About this venue

Nestled in the peaceful, rolling farmlands of Charles City, Open Air The Glebe is only 30 minutes from Richmond or Williamsburg. This 10 acre farm features a historic home, scenic tree-lined drive, multiple barns, and a large tented patio. You can have your rehearsal dinner in the Tractor Pavilion, host your wedding reception under our 60'x90' tent, continue celebrating with an after-party--or whatever you like for a day, or for a long weekend. Our philosophy is that a celebration should reflect the vision, the culture, the traditions of each couple, therefore we allow you to hire the vendors that you choose (the day should not reflect our tastes and that of our "preferred list" of vendors/friends). The Events Team of Open Air The Glebe has over 50 combined years working in the event industry, therefore you also get the benefit of all the experience and resources that we have. Whatever you desire, we can make it happen!

On the expansive back lawn of the historic Glebe House, our brick patio was purpose-built for our 60' x 90' Epic Pole tent. Adjacent is The Coop Bar, preparation space for the caterer, restroom facilities and ample, well-lit parking.

The Tractor Pavilion

The Tractor Pavilion is the ideal space to host a casual event to compliment your weekend celebration

Originally this structure housed the tractors and other farming implements, now this has been finished with a concrete floor, bistro lighting and rustic bar.

The Glebe House

Enhance your celebration by staying the entire weekend, with overnight accommodations for up to 10.

3 bedroom, 3 full bathrooms, 1 king size bed and 4 queen sized beds. The kitchen is well-equipped with coffee maker, electric kettle, pots, pans, plates, glassware, cutlery--everything you need to enhance your stay.

The Cellar

An unexpected hide-away

Our cellar has been converted to a comfy den where a celebrant and attendants can get dressed, enjoy each other's company and await being called for pictures or the ceremony. The area has it's own entrance so it is easy for celebrants to keep the tradition of not seeing each other until the ceremony.

Description

This pricing is for dates in 2024 and 2025. You may use the entire property- The Glebe House, Lawns, Tented Back Lawn, The Coop Bar and Tractor Barn- for three days, typically from noon Friday through noon Monday. This includes overnight accommodations for up to 10 in the historic home. You may host as many events, and utilize as many spaces as you need to make your celebration complete.

    Beautiful, historic home at Open Air. The grounds and large, old trees make this venue such a beautiful backdrop. And it's so Virginia! Use of house, barn, and, of course, the back yard with large brick patio and tent make this perfect for any size gathering. Michelle, Steve, and Patti have been so accommodating and have wonderful, helpful ideas for the space. Grateful we have a few extra days to set up for our wedding and don't have to hurry to break the reception all down. It has been a pleasure to work with the Open Air staff.
