About this venue

Built in 1871, Cow Track Ranch sweeps from the floor of Nicasio Valley surrounded by rolling hills and trees. Located 1.25 miles down a gravel road, the ranch is a quiet location with an authentic rustic vibe. The reception barn, an original 1970's hay barn, displays a collection of antique gold mirrors, dimming chandeliers, bistro lighting and a built-in stage. The barn includes farm tables and décor. A large prep space with tables, refrigeration/freezer and wash area is available for catering use. Two oversized wood doors welcome guests into the tin barn which has one open side providing views of the rolling hills. Ceremonies take place atop the knoll behind the reception barn by a large rock or in front of the historic wood barn, built in 1871. Enjoy cocktail hour in the barnyard and the corral is a great space for guests to dance the night away under the stars. Our venue include lodging and exclusive use of the property which makes your special weekend relaxing and enjoyable.

The Guest House is a cozy farmhouse for two with an open floor plan, spacious master bedroom and wrap around porch with views of the front pasture and weeping Willow. A bright interior with hardwood floors and the best views of the ranch. Hike up the hill to catch a sunset and enjoy your morning beverage sitting in the rocking chairs as the birds sing.

The Bunk House

A rustic western cabin with all of the luxuries of home

Enjoy a unique relaxing stay in our rustic & cozy Bunk House on a working cattle ranch in the beautiful Nicasio Valley, 1.5 miles off the hwy. A true western cabin with all of the amenities of home. Relax in the early morning as the sun beams through the 1920’s windows and the birds chirp. Free range chickens provide fresh eggs & we have farm stand products available for purchase (honey, beef, cooking salts, artisan soaps + gifts).

    We loved having our wedding at cow track. The barn was sweet, the view and surrounding land beautiful. And Melissa was thoughtful and incredibly easy to work with - and trust us when we saving having easy people to work with during such a stressful event is key. Our wedding was so much fun and the property definitely played a large role. Use this space. You won't regret it.

    Cow Track Ranch is a fantastic venue. For barn settings, and the gorgeous Marin hills (and sunsets!), Cow Track Ranch can't be beat. Their staff are event pros as well. Great to work with and gorgeous venue! Highly recommended. :)

    The best wedding venue we could have asked for! We hosted our wedding reception in the gorgeous wedding barn with chandeliers and a view of the sunset. We felt like we were in a movie with the sun setting over the golden hills! Our catering company had plenty of space in the commercial kitchen to serve up a two course meal. Our guests had an absolute blast at the ranch - dancing in the barn, playing lawn games outside and admiring the cows and horses that watched over the event. After the party, we stayed at the Bunk House, which is the charming rental home on property. The owner left us a bottle of wine, a custom candle and a sweet note congratulating us on our wedding! We will never forget how special everything was. Cow Track Ranch’s owner Melissa was accommodating, kind and very welcoming when we asked to come back multiple times to see the wedding venue. She offered us a great wedding package with a value you can’t beat. Highly recommend Cow Track to anyone looking for a barn wedding venue only half an hour from the heart of Marin!

    We loved having our wedding at Cow Track Ranch. It is absolutely gorgeous. When we saw the ceremony site, we knew that was where we wanted to get married – not too far from the city but a world away. When you look out from the hilltop, all you can see are golden hills and woods. It's stunning. We held the reception in the barn, which is rustic and charming. This venue is not for those who want an all-inclusive experience, however. You need to bring everything in and coordinate it, from bathrooms to kitchen equipment. It is unapologetically rustic, with authentic cow patties in the field and hay on the floor of the barn.
