About this venue

Bitter Monk is an intimate cocktail bar and the tasting room of our micro-distillery and spirits brand, ATHERAS SPIRITS, specializing in cocktails made primarily from our own house-made Amari, herbal liqueurs and bitters while further exploring our signature style of cocktails that utilizes herbs, spices, wild plants, roots, fruits and flowers, many of which are foraged for us by Tama Matsuoka Wong. In addition to our own products, Bitter Monk uses New York State brands exclusively.

Experience the intimate ambiance of our 17-seat venue, thoughtfully designed by Jutras with a modern-industrial vibe in a green-and-plum color palette. Soft leather chairs and mid-century-inspired marble tables complement the space, illuminated by dimmed golden lighting. A stunning mosaic of 48 colored glass panels adorns the wall behind the bar, casting vibrant stained-glass patterns throughout the room. Central to our design is the Philosopher's Stone symbol, representing our ambition to exceed expectations. Guests can peek into our kitchen through a large window, witnessing the magic behind our creations in real-time.
