    Sami photographed mine and my husbands wedding on June 15th of this year. From the start, there were some concerning things about her professionalism. To start, we had scheduled a call with her to discuss our expectations of the day. When the time for the call came, she did not answer her phone even when called multiple times. The next day, she told us that she was at the school and did not have service inside the school. It seemed weird, but we brushed it off. Then, there was always a few day delay on everything that she said she would send us and we had to send reminders to her to have them sent- the contract and a survey she wanted us to complete. The day of the wedding came and everything went fine. After the wedding, we were excited to get our photos. We paid extra to get our photos back in 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks. When 6 weeks was up, I had heard nothing from her. So I had to message her. She told me she would have it to me by the end of the week and give me extra photos. The end of the week came and once again, no photos. Over the next two weeks my husband and I kept messaging her multiple times with very delayed responses and mediocre excuses such as, “I extended a family trip,” and, “I’ve been very busy.” She finally promised us sneak peak photos and a 50 dollar refund. We received neither. We finally got our pictures at 8 and 1/2 weeks after the wedding. They look pretty, but because of the level of unprofessionalism, I would never chose to work with this photographer again.

    I felt very disappointed in the level of unprofessionalism that I got from Sami. There were always excuses when it came to deadlines that she put into our contract. I always made sure that I followed our contract but it seemed like she did not care about her side of the contract that she made. During our engagements, the excuses were that it was finals and then she got a new puppy, then when the contract said same-day sneak peeks, she sent them a week later saying she had another wedding to shoot. When it was time for the rest of my pictures she decided to not message me back for days and then said she was out of town and would give me the photos when she got back. I understand being busy and maybe forgetting once, but when there was an excuse everytime and she was completely aware of what she put into the contract and when those days would fall, it was a complete disappointment in the company and the level of professionalism that we recieved. Sami was also very hard to communicate with since she takes days to respond and you have to message her multiple times for her to even answer days after. I asked her once if she could edit something out of a photo, and she said she would but never did, I should have taken that as a red flag because that was how the rest of our photos and sessions went. When everything was over in our contract, I am now left very disappointed in the photographer, and how the Sami Lou Photography company is run. There was no professionalism, almost no communication on her hand, very hard to work with since she very responded and gave an excuse every time, the quality of the photos was amazing but I was left very disappointed. Would never re-hire again!
