I’m an Asheville-based photographer and lover of the great outdoors, fresh ground coffee beans, flannel + fall, and going on adrenaline based adventures. I'm like a best friend with a camera, or the guest you didnt invite but glad I showed up. You'll feel completely comfortable and natural throughout the wedding day. No stress, no pressure.

My commitment to my couples, use of creative lighting, impossibly fast turnaround time, and communication are what my couples love about working with me! For me a wedding day isn't just about capturing beautiful images, it's about telling a story. Your story! I want you to be able to look back on your images for years to come and be transported in time to exactly how you felt on that day. This means capturing all the little in between moments as well!

Michael was absolutely the best to work with! We used him for our engagement photos in the Blue Ridge Mountains and our wedding in New Orleans and he delivered perfection both times! He is worth every penny. He understands lighting and photography so you get the most incredible photos. We highly recommend him!

Michael Freas is the best photographer we could've possibly chosen. He is easy going and yet also professional at the same time. If you are looking for some quality photos where the color pops and stands out, along with some fun candid photos, you found the right person! As soon as he pulled up to our venue he saw some flowers which were off to the side and knew immediately he would bring us over to the field where the flowers were. None of our guests even saw the field of flowers, he just has an eye for this stuff and knows how to control a camera phenomenally! We loved working with him!
