I’m Maura – Chicago based wedding photographer to the stars (that’s you!) and I am so pumped you’ve found my little corner of the interweb. Your wedding day is going to be beyond-your-wildest-dreams amazing and beyond that, totally unique. Sure, you’ll put on “The Dress”, exchange your “I do’s” and probably cry at some point (or at all points!) but your wedding day is 100% completely and utterly yours. I am here to help make this the best day of your life while creating heirloom art that tells your personal love story. I offer planning support and insider advice at every step of the journey to ensure nothin'-but-net on your Big Day.

You are going to feel so comfortable and - dare I say - have so much fun working with me that you'll completely forget I have a camera in my hands and am capturing those beautiful, once-in-a-life-time, if-you-blink-you'll-miss-it moments.     Maura is truly an artist and we were so lucky to have had her capture our wedding day in September, 2024 at Firehouse Chicago!!!! Our pictures are so special and she captured some really beautiful moments on our wedding day that we know we'll treasure forever. Maura was recommended to us by a friend of a friend, who said "Maura was the single best decision she made for her wedding," and now we couldn't agree more! Maura was amazing and easy to work with from start to finish- she was easy to communicate with leading up to our engagement shoot and our wedding, she provided a super helpful guide after booking, she has the best personality to keep you cool/calm/collected and looking your very best in photos, provided great direction for posing that didn't make us feel to awkward or uncomfortable, she helped us develop a perfect wedding day timeline and kept us on track day-of, and she more than anything rolled with the punches as our day went on! Maura was willing to step in anywhere for anything to ensure we were stress-free and enjoying our day, and that all the little moments were captured. One of the great things about booking Maura is that you don't need to wait months and months for your pictures - she sends a sneak peak the day after engagement shoots and weddings so you've got something to look at and enjoy while you await the rest a few weeks later. The pictures that we got the day after our wedding had us in tears. Not only were they beautiful, she somehow was everywhere all at once, and captured our special moments from every angle. I can't wait to see the rest of our gallery, and I know that we'll treasure these photos forever. I wouldn't hesitate to book Maura again, and I would recommend her to anyone in search of a photographer. She is the best!

    Maura at Maura Black Photography was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding photos. From our first meeting, we were impressed by her fast, positive, and enthusiastic communication style. On our big day, Maura brought so much energy and made taking photos a fun part of the celebration. The photos turned out beautifully - we love reliving moments from our special day every time we look through them. Maura has a real talent for capturing emotion and special details. Plus, her and Carlos were so encouraging throughout the process. We couldn't recommend Maura Black Photography more highly for wedding photography. Maura is simply the best - she helped make our wedding day truly special and gave us gorgeous photos to cherish those memories forever.

    From our first call, I knew I wanted to work with Maura. Photography was the most important element of our wedding for me. While quality of work is important, I wanted to really connect with our photographer and feel I could trust them to capture our day and create once in a lifetime memories. We were so incredibly lucky that we found Maura as she ticked every single box! We realized a few days out from our wedding that we’d have unavoidable rain the entire day and needed to pivot on most of our plans for vows, portraits, etc. Maura was truly a lifesaver helping us navigate plan B (and additional contingency plans). The location she recommended for our vows and portraits ended up being even more perfect for us than our original outdoor plans, and the photos turned out incredible. The quality of Maura’s work, her professionalism, stamina(!), and organization were all notably impressive to not just myself and the groom, but we received multiple comments how amazing Maura was from family, friends, and guests after the wedding. If I could leave one piece of advice for anyone currently planning their wedding, it would be to BOOK MAURA ASAP. You won’t regret it!
