Love, Lomax Studios is a premier wedding photography company based in Northern Virginia. Founded and led by Karisa Lomax, we proudly serve couples throughout the DC metro area, Tampa Bay Area, & beyond. Our guiding philosophy, "capturing today for the sake of tomorrow," reflects our commitment to intentional, thoughtful photography. Every photo is approached with care and purpose. Our aim is to offer couples a unique perspective, showcasing the beauty of their special day through detailed compositions & genuine emotions—while ensuring that the entire experience remains enjoyable & relaxed for everyone involved!
Karisa has often been described by past couples as "friendly, organized, an excellent coach in posing, professional, and easily makes others feel comfortable", among many other things! We get it--it is not easy to be in front of a camera, especially with some stranger snapping your photos on such an important day. That is why Karisa prides herself on connecting with her couples and guiding them through each step of the process to ensure they feel comfortable. No stiff poses here! Just all smiles, laughter, and love from here on out :) It'll feel as if you're hanging out with an old friend rather than posing for photos!

The BEST!!!
Karisa is truly INCREDIBLE! We found her on instagram for our engagement photoshoot and instantly loved her! During the photoshoot she not only made us feel great and have fun but the photos were STUNNING! There was no doubt that we needed her to capture our wedding also… but we were moving out of state… so she packed her bags and booked a hotel! We are SO thankful for her flexibility to be there on our big day. Not only did she travel for our wedding but she found a second photographer local to us to satisfy the package we wanted! It truly felt like Karisa was a guest at our wedding and all of our family loved her. We never realized how important choosing a photographer was until we had Karisa’s happy smile by our sides the whole day. The wedding photos are everything we could have dreamed of and more. We can’t wait for Karisa capture more special moments in our life!
Amazing Photographer on Every Front
Our experience with Karisa at Love, Lomax Studios was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. Before we booked her, she eased all our anxieties by having a call with us to better understand our vision, explain how she works, and what we could expect from the relationship. One thing we really appreciated was how clear her pricing was. Nothing made me more anxious that reaching out to a vendor and having no clue what the financial commitment might be. With Love, Lomax Studios, we could see up front what the cost would be and everything a package included. My husband and I went for the "capturing everything" package and it was everything we could have wanted and more. Karisa was so easy to work with- both in person for the engagement shoot and then wedding, but also offered the perfect amount of communication before and after the shoots. Her communication style is clear, loving and friendly, and concise. We felt supported by her, in a way I hadn't even expected from a photographer, and she was so fun and game to try goofy shots we had in mind. I also had my makeup artist comment on how professional she was, knowing exactly how to work around the other vendors onsite, in a way that apparently isn't always the case with other photographers. Not only is Karisa a delight to work with, but she is extremely skilled and her photographs are AMAZING. Every single person who seems them can't help but gush over them. Karisa has such an eye for capturing intimate, beautiful, and real moments. It made choosing photos for our album so hard, but of course Karisa stepped in to help us there too! I could go on, but in all hiring Love, Lomax Studios was once of the best decisions we made for our wedding and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others in the area. Thank you so much, Karisa!
Our absolute favorite wedding vendor
We are beyond thrilled with the photos Karisa captured for both our engagement session and wedding day. As people who aren’t typically comfortable in front of the camera, she made us feel at ease and made us look amazing in every shot. On our wedding day, with some timing challenges, Karisa’s calming presence and organized approach ensured everything stayed on track, and we were able to capture all of the important moments with ease. The final photos are absolutely stunning and perfectly reflect the joy and love of our day. If you’re looking for a photographer who not only delivers beautiful photos but also goes above and beyond to make sure your day is captured in the best way possible, we absolutely recommend Love, Lomax Studios. Karisa is MAGIC - the perfect photographer!
Karisa was the PERFECT choice to capture the most important days of our lives. She was so easy to work with and the pictures turned out so beautifully that we hired her to do our engagement shoot, my grad school graduation photos, and of course our wedding. From the moment we reached out we had a good feeling about her. Her communication is prompt, helpful, kind, and thoughtful. Even just as a prospective client at the time, I could tell she really cares. I'm a very detail-oriented person so I had lots of questions throughout the process and Karisa had an answer to everything and no detail was too small for her! She's very professional, as well, always on time and ready to go, thinking of every possible issue ahead of time. During our shoots she made my husband and I feel so comfortable. Her direction is easy to follow and makes for the most wonderful photos! And when we had ideas for shots that we wanted, she was all for it. She gets you sneak peeks back quickly so you can check out a handful of great shots right away and a full gallery back within a very reasonable time period. I have gotten so many compliments on the photos from all three of our shoots - and I always say in response that my photographer is MAGIC because she truly is. I could never have imagined how incredible and perfect our photos could be, and we have them forever now thanks to Karisa. Not only is she exceptionally talented, hardworking, professional, kind, and easy to work with, she is also the most thoughtful and generous vendor I have ever worked with. In addition to sending us a card to congratulate us on getting married, she also gave us a small memento to celebrate our first holiday season as a married couple. So sweet! All this to say that in Karisa I have found my photographer for life. She has consistently shown me that she is the best of the best as a photographer and a human. I highly recommend her!
