At 17, I thought I was the 2nd second coming of Jimi Hendrix. What I had was the personality and attributes to be the lead guitarist in a rock band and the ability to learn and memorize the music and play with conviction. What I lacked was the God-given gift of music. As a short biography, I took a few college courses and went to work in a warehouse after high school. In a kind of wayward state, I answered a classified ad for a photography assistant for Lawrence-James Studios.

I believe that not only the creative and candid gift is present in my work but also a sound technical presence from my experience in the corporate world is brought to the studio in both photography and video. Long gone are the days of film and now post-production work in photography is more important than ever. This increased technical knowledge adds to much faster turnaround times (2-3 days best of social media post / 7-10 days image completion; please compare with other studios. I would be honored to be your wedding photographer

    The communication with John Kellar Photography Studio was very poor. The head photographer, John, was aggressive, rude, and unclear in his instructions. While the assistant photographer, Vlad, was great to work with - friendly and able to capture some nice candid shots - the overall quality of the photography was just okay, especially considering the high price we paid. John also did not listen to our requests at all, and was even rude to my nephew who is autistic. I would not recommend John Kellar Photography Studio to other couples looking for wedding photographers.

    Hi Tori & Josh... I had no idea that you thought and felt this way. I sent you a private message to you to talk about this in more detail a week ago and as of now there's been no response. I've personally been doing wedding photography 30 years now and have done over 1200 weddings and never received a review like this before. I have 100+ 5 star reviews on google and other wedding sites which I believe it's a 4.9 total rating. I know I usually start off the wedding photography with some light humor to put couples at ease and I'm wondering if something got misinterpreted and caught fire from there? I know I had a pre-wedding talk about two weeks before the wedding and only the groom was on the phone (to the best of my knowledge) and no special requests were made. We're almost finished with the editing and you'll have over 1000 photos. I don't want to nitpick this but it's curious how the photo quality was just okay when you still haven't seen the photos except for the sneak preview provided a day or two after this review. This has really troubled me but I/we (the studio) do respect your comments will be more aware in the future. I sincerely wish you both a long healthy and happy life together.
