Q: How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

This has changed a lot over the last several years... anywhere from 2 weeks - 12+ months. It's best to book ASAP to make sure I'm available for your date still!

Q: How long will it take to see our pictures?

Our contract states 6-8 weeks, however, I deliver them as soon as possible (typically within 2-4 weeks). Whenever possible, I like to post a teaser image right away to social media so you have something to share with friends and family.

Q: Will you edit all our pictures?

Absolutely. All galleries include digital images in full color as well as black and white copies.

Q: How many pictures will we get?

This really varies per the day. I do not limit the number to a certain amount... A typical 8 hour day is generally 600+ images as well as black and white copies.

Q: Do you have insurance?

YES! I am fully licensed and insured. If your venue requires a certificate of liability, I’ll be send to send over a copy. I carry a State Parks commercial license as well.

Q: What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

In over 10 years of owning a business & offering wedding services, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the unlikely event that my family experiences an emergency/I am unable to photograph your wedding, we will proceed as outlined in our contract (either hiring an associate to stand in my place with myself hand editing your final gallery or full refund with recommendations for alternative photographers).

Q: Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

I typically work solo, however, I'm happy to source a talented secondary photographer if you'd like more coverage.

Hey! I'm Heather. I specialize in micro weddings and elopements (and relaxed/lifestyle family photography as well). I care a lot about knowing what's actually important to you and how you want to feel throughout your wedding day... Toss any external expectations of what you *should* do. I want to help you plan how you really want to spend the day, who you want to spend it with, and where you want to be. I want you to feel like you can really be IN the moment and soak up all the love and support by those present with you. I want you to feel seen and celebrated every step of the way.

Because of my flexible pricing options, I often work with couples who are either wanting partial day coverage (budgeting to prioritize the most important moments) or plans that are less of a typical event and more of a really great day. Both hourly coverage and planning assistance packages are available. (Planning assistance means helping you navigate the ins and outs of wedding planning with extra experience and advice if you'll be using a State Park, National Park, or Forest Land.) LGBTQIA+ are celebrated here, Black Lives have and will always Matter, and Leave No Trace is super important in our use of public lands.

Hourly Coverage

Description

I typically recommend a minimum of 2 hours (this minimum is required for traveling outside the Tacoma area) because the time goes by SO fast, and it's really good to build in buffer - this helps you feel less stressed and more present. Prior to booking, we'll set up a virtual meeting to talk through all your plans, highest priorities, and I'll give you my feedback on the number of hours I think would be ideal.

There is no shortage of wonderful things to say about Heather! Heather captured our engagement and wedding photos and made us feel incredible throughout the entire process. She managed to keep up with our changing ideas, event locations, and emotions. She manages to capture genuine moments and emotions in a beautifully artistic way that is hard to describe with words. I am so glad that we chose her to capture such a momentous occasion--not only are our photographs beautiful, but our days were made better and brighter by Heather's presence. We were blessed to have her with us for our entire wedding day that included getting ready photos, our ceremony at Elope 253, dinner, bowling, and an arcade trip! She even carved out time for us to have our first dance at a gorgeous park right after sunset which meant the world to us. She helped so much throughout the day, from helping fix my veil and organizing a bubble exit, to saving my niece's night with Shout wipes. If you're looking for someone to capture authentic moments from your special days in a beautiful way that will leave all of your family and coworkers impressed, Heather is definitely the right choice!
