We're Jim & Dakotah - a Virginia Beach-based husband and wife photographer/videographer duo. We specialize in delivering elevated-edgy imagery to wedding couples that seek something a little more dramatic and polished.

Both our photo and video work lean heavily into editorial-inspired posing and lighting, so you end up feeling (and looking) like you belong in the pages of a fashion magazine centerfold. We're definitely not your mom's recommended photographer as you won't catch us delivering corny, awkward images - just stunning, elegant photo and video that continuously captivates in the coming decades of your love story.

Dakotah and Jim are simply a phenomenal photo/video team. Their work speaks for itself- it's stunning and we couldn't be any more pleased with what we've received. Almost more importantly, though, they were just perfect to work with. Dakotah has a way about her that makes you feel like you've been friends forever. My husband, who is typically more reserved and camera-shy, thanked me for choosing her because he was able to feel so relaxed with her behind the camera. From our engagement session to our wedding day, Dakotah made us feel relaxed and seen in what our vision was. She ensured we got exactly the shots that we wanted- nothing more, nothing less ("nothing more" in the context that we didn't want to feel like our wedding day photos/portraits were bulldozed by any family members! We got above and beyond of the candid shots!) She listened intently to us, honored our wishes, and provided stunning work. The moments that Dakotah captured are breathtaking and will be admired for the rest of our lives. We're so happy to have chosen her to capture the most exciting times in our lives and we will certainly be working with her again in the next chapters of our lives! And Jim- he's awesome. Our wedding day video was everything we could have wanted and more.

Dakotah and Jim wow wow wow!! From our engagement pictures, wedding pictures, and videography absolute perfection. I personally love the camera but my husband needs and wants a little direction. Dakotah delivers!!! She will guide you through posing to make your photos come out even better than you could imagine. I can honestly say I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day. Her photography style is like no other I have seen in the Hampton roads area and I could not be happier that we went with her! She was the perfect fit for us and so patient with us, our wedding party and our families. The videography!!! Good grief amazing would be an understatement I cannot stop watching our preview video. Jim and Dakotah are just an amazing team their praise truly cannot be put into words!
