    ZOLA DELETED LAST REVIEW - REPOSTING IT: I hate to leave negative reviews but wanted to be honest and open because I know I appreciated honesty when shopping around. I have waited several days to post this review, giving Nicquel the opportunity to follow up with me, knowing that I was not happy with the service, but I never heard from her. As a bride, I felt like I was not a priority to Nicquel. She did not respond to me or my planner's texts/emails on several occasions leading up to the wedding: Feb 14, Feb 24, Mar 1, Mar 6, and Mar 15 - when my wedding was on Mar 16. She also booked another client on my wedding day and only had time to do my makeup, leaving 6 bridesmaids to be done by only 1 assistant (whose work I was not familiar with), despite promising "I will be doing as many extra applications as I can and then bring an assistant” when I booked her. She failed to provide a 2nd assistant to replace herself. Her communication was misleading because she used terms like "my team" - which suggested she would bring more than one assistant. Nicquel also failed to relay important hotel/venue parking information that caused her assistant to be late and put us behind schedule, affecting our photos. The assistant's conduct was also not professional. She badgered my planner all day for addresses and parking instructions that were given to Nicquel in advance and clearly not passed along to the assistant. At one point the assistant even asked if she still needed to come because she couldn't find parking nearby when she had a PREPAID contractual obligation to fulfill. She also told my bridal party that she didn’t even know she would be assisting until the day before; adding that the girl who was supposed to do it canceled, but “Nicquel says she always cancels." Apparently this isn't a one time mistake and I don't appreciate Nicquel KNOWINGLY putting my wedding day at risk of this problem when she also planned to leave early. Furthermore, Nicquel confirmed my makeup touch-up would be from 4-5pm (which anyone would assume was a full hour, given the price was 175) but apparently she meant that to only be a few min within that time frame. I get misunderstandings/miscommunications happen, but as the business owner Nicquel should have been clear on what 4-5 meant. My planner asked the assistant responsible for the touchup to wait until after photos were done at 4:45 to perform the touchup (which was still within the 4-5 window), and the assistant refused (even though the entire reason we were behind schedule in the first place was because she was late). Given everything that had happened, Nicquel/assistant should have been flexible, but instead Nicquel called my planner less than an hour before my ceremony to argue the contract logistics. My planner (having been sufficiently pulled from all her other responsibilities) asked her to please find a solution and follow-up on Monday regarding the misunderstandings. After much effort, the assistant ended up staying, but it's now Tues, the wedding was Sat, and we have yet to hear from Nicquel. Ultimately, I was happy with the way my makeup looked but I would not recommend Nicquel based on her lack of communication and planning/organization.

    Nicquel is the best! My bridal hair and makeup was beautiful and I looked perfect the whole night. Nicquel is great at what she does and she really works with you to ensure you are looking your best and feeling your best. I did a trial with her and she took down every note to make sure I was 10000% satisfied on the day of. She’s kind, she’s beautiful & she’s amazing. I definitely recommend!
