Florescent is a NY based floral design studio founded by Samantha Smerconish. Forever inspired by the colors, textures, movement, and femme elements of natural materials - Florescent’s team promises to transform your brand, event, or bedside table into a botanical dreamscape.

Florescent strives to take the stunning ingredients in nature's palette to create something whimsical and gestural that not only feels unique, but feels alive. We aim to use seasonal ingredients just as nature intended, and are a foam-free floral operation.

We had the absolute best experience working with Florescent and Sam for our wedding! I truly cannot say enough great things about them! I came to Sam with the idea of doing a colorful meadow for our altar but the issue was that the inspo pictures I had for this were from a VERY pricy Lake Como wedding. But Sam came to the rescue and figured out a way to make my floral dreams come true on my much more limited budget! She worked hard to come up with ways that the flowers could be repurposed and used in different ways throughout the venue following our ceremony. She took all of my notes about the colors of flowers I was interested in and completely exceeded my expectations without much more direction from me! She came up with the most beautiful combinations of flowers in the arrangements and bouquets she created and totally blew us all away! When I first walked into our wedding venue I was completely amazed by what Sam and her team did and how their amazing work transformed the space and brought my dreams to life. I cannot thank Sam and her team at Florescent enough and I also cannot recommend them more highly! Thank you, thank you, thank you Sam and Florescent!!!

Working with Samantha was one of the easiest parts of our wedding planning journey and she was an absolute joy to work with. We had a getting to know you meeting to discuss vision and other logistical details at their workspace (and they had doughnuts for us!) and a walkthrough at our venue at a later date. Right from the start we were on the same page (I said the aesthetic was the 1993 Secret Garden film and she was right there with me). Honestly, working with her was more like planning with a friend rather than a vendor. Throughout the entire process, she sent us wonderful ideas and created the most whimsical and beautiful table centerpieces, fun boutonnieres, and a lush archway for our ceremony that made its way to our reception to grace the bar. I can't imagine coming up with floral designs for a wedding at a botanical garden is easy, but Sam totally delivered! Truly a highlight of our wedding and everything we could've wanted. Perfection is an understatement.

Sam is the best to work with - professional, easy-going, and fun! Every floral display I've seen from Florescent is unique and catered specifically to the event and the clients. She has impeccable taste, and makes the entire process so easy for the clients and the venue. I recommend Florescent to every client booking an event with us.

Our originally planned wedding, for September of 2020, was going to be in my hometown. After the pandemic started we began a series of pivots, to try to figure out how to be able to still safely celebrate. We realized that we needed to postpone our full wedding to a year ahead and find a tiny but still special safe outdoor way to celebrate our love on our original date. We knew we needed to do this locally in Brooklyn, outdoors and with all of the safety precautions. We decided on the backyard garden of a wonderful restaurant called The Farm in our old neighborhood of Ditmas Park for our venue. I remembered that there was a flower shop in front of the bar where we had our first kiss that was up the block from our venue, I searched it online and found that an amazing new florist now had her flower creations there. The organic wildness of her flower compositions on her site were gorgeous. I reached out and from the moment we were in touch I knew that she was not only an amazing artist, but a wonderful human as well. Samantha was so warm and helpful and genuinely cared. She really connected with us and what we had envisioned, stylistically, our color palette, the general feel we wanted the garden to have, all of the things! She really took everything in and thoughtfully and artfully created the most magical flowers all around us- she was even able to figure out how to incorporate a spray of roses into the large ivy wall behind us in a gorgeous color gradient. She was extremely helpful and communicative through out with any question or thoughts I had, I felt really supported. I had sourced a flower crown that was more bare bones and a matching bout that she customized by adding beautiful dried blooms to both, I felt like I was in a living fairytale! The bouquet was stunning and beautifully arranged, just so special, and all of our flowers had that wild organic quality to them that I love so much. A sweet surprise was finding out that she had included the vessels she had arranged our flowers in into the budget so we were able to keep and use them and the flower frogs inside them, we love them and have been making small arrangements at home. And still have many of the dried botanicals that were incorporated in with all of the fresh blooms. Samantha is incredible. The whole process through, so kind, so very talented and with such a big heart. If you are in the area and looking for a florist, I could not possibly recommend her more highly.
