Q: What do you wear?

I wear all black dress clothes. For outdoor ceremonies I may or may not wear a suit jacket and tie, depending on the temperature.

Q: Do you learn new songs?

Yes! I've had brides walk down the aisle to The Black Crowes, Snow Patrol, The Zombies and (not kidding) the theme to the 'Final Fantasy' video game. Occasionally I charge a small fee for new songs ($10-25) to cover sheet music and time.

Q: What makes you different from other musicians?

I've been playing weddings professionally since 2005, and performed for over 700 weddings. There is more to playing a wedding ceremony than just musicianship. It requires timing and poise, and an ability to 'roll with the punches.' You never know what's going to happen, so it's good to have lots of experience.

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

Yes. I offer packages that range from solo guitar for the ceremony and prelude for seating of guests, to classical and Jazz trios and quartets for ceremony and cocktail hour, as well as reception.

Q: How early do you come to set up?

For solo guitar I typically arrive thirty minutes before the prelude begins. It usually takes me about five minutes to set up the small amplifier I bring with me, but I like to have plenty of time in case I need to run an extension cord or if there is traffic or another delay.

Q: What are your sales taxes?

We hired Rob to play music before and during our outdoor wedding ceremony. We hired him as a soloist and he played beautiful classical guitar that was perfect for the event. I am aware that he also can provide duos or larger ensembles as needed. He also can provide jazzy reception music after the wedding. Nashville certainly has a lot of guitar players but classical guitar players with a robust repertoire can be hard to find.

Rob's been playing Ceremonies and Cocktail Hours for us since we opened in 2016. He's great for parties and corporate events as well. He has a cool style and can play anything from vintage to modern to hymns.
