Born and raised in McAllen, TX, John made his way to Austin after high school, to pursue a career as a performing musician. John has been performing for over 10 years. His song catalog includes a wide range of great rock hits from the 90s, and he throws in some country and oldies to keep you entertained. You can find John playing regularly at The Blind Pig Pub, Cody Ray’s Saloon, and Spinner’s Bar and Grill.

    John played during the cocktail hour at my wedding last October. I got nothing but high praise and compliments on his performance from all of my wedding guests.     When we first started looking for an artist who would be just the right fit, it seemed daunting. We found a few people with a good sound, but they didn't have the songs we wanted. When I found someone with all the right songs, the sound wasn't right. Then I came across John Prather. After viewing his videos and reviewing his set list, I got so excited! His unique sound was unlike any of the other artists I had found. He covered several genres, all which I loved. Wheb we reached out he was so easy to work with! He was extremely personable, and very accommodating. Whe we had to change dates due to covid, he graciously worked with us to fit it into his schedule. But the best part was the actual day. His video clips don't come close to doing him justice. His live performance was unforgettable. His voice is amazing. He played to the crowd and played all of our favorite songs. When we couldn't get enough, he even stayed later for a reasonable fee so we could keep celebrating. I will continue to turn to John for any other events I want to make a little more memorable. Thank you John!
