Harpist Monika Vasey

Monikais a professional harpist in Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia where she is in demand as a performer and teacher. Current teaching appointments include the Levine School of Music, and the Concord Hill School. She maintains a private harp studio in her home and directs the Maryland Classic Youth Harp Ensemble at Strathmore Hall. Monika is a regular coach for the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras and Young Artists of America, also at Strathmore. She serves on the board of directors at Young Artists of America.

A graduate of the Peabody Institute of Music at Johns Hopkins University, Monika holds a Masters degree in Music Education as well as Bachelors degrees in Music Education and Harp Performance. She has traveled the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Germany, Holland, France, Spain, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates. She performs regularly as a soloist and orchestral harpist, at weddings and corporate functions. Performance highlights include engagements for the President of the United States, the President of Liberia, the Kennedy Center Honors, and many other high-profile clients
