Events By Josh is a professional wedding DJ based out of Los Angeles, California. Owner and primary DJ Joshua Smeaton has been providing couples with his high-energy DJ services for over 20 years. Joshua has developed a deep appreciation for personalizing couples’ events to suit their particular needs throughout his impressive career. Amazing from start to finish!
Going into the process for the first time (obviously) we had a hard time assessing DJ's for our wedding. You can get a general sense from reviews of whether someone has done a good job and is experienced, but I don't think you can get the full picture of Josh's abilities from those. He sets up your personal event website which allows you to easily plan your event out, from what songs you want to walk down to the aisle to, to what songs you want at cocktail hour vs. dancing. He lets you give guidance on when to start and stop each of the songs at the key events, but also gives recommendations on when to do so, and he generally has the best plan. He was extremely organized and kept track of the schedule and made sure to track us down for the few times we weren't on the dance floor to make sure we were ready to proceed to the next scheduled event (like a Greek dance!). In summary we felt he did a terrific job balancing our wishes and vision with his suggestions from his vast professional experience. In his words, "A lot of DJ's can play a great set, but the ability to run a wedding seamlessly from start to finish that brings that couple’s unique vision to life is a whole other thing. This is your wedding, you’ve dreamed of this day. Let’s make it a reality."
Couldn't Stop Dancing!
Now when I say Josh had the party going all night, I 100% mean exactly that. Whenever I tried to sit for water, a song I just HAD to dance to would come on again. He kept the feeling high energy and was constantly checking in with my wife and I to make sure that things were going the way we wanted to and he would let us know before any transition happened since neither of us had any sense of what time it was. Josh took all of our suggestions for songs and then created a crazy high energy list to match what we like and he captured us perfectly. He had us twerking and twirling until the very last song. I couldn't thank you enough for all that you did for us, thank you a million times over!
He made our wedding just the way we wanted it
Josh is a phenomenal DJ. We hired him for our wedding and the event was hailed as (not just one of the best weddings) but as one of the best parties our guests had ever attended. Josh took our music preferences and added to them, making our reception incredibly high energy and fun. Pretty much everyone was up and dancing the entire time. In terms of organization, Josh is incredibly attentive and communicative. He learns about you in order to run your event perfectly tailored to who you are and what you want. The entire process was very personalized and we felt very taken care of. We highly recommend Josh for any event you need DJ'd.
