Built in the 1920’s in an area that has long served as the city’s seafood market east of Downtown, the building has lived many lives in its century of use; it’s been a fish and oyster company, an ice cream factory, and a commercial site for everything from far east imports to marijuana cultivation. This quirky history subtly informed our re-invention of the space.

Once a 1980s smog-check center, SmogShoppe is now a 100% solar-powered, private 6,500 square foot indoor/outdoor haven for desert plants, vertical gardens and chic vintage furnishings. The combined interior and exterior areas allow for quintessential California entertaining, making an ideal vintage wedding venue. The generous floor plan can accommodate up to 150-person garden ceremonies, 150-person formal sit down dinners, and 250-person cocktail parties. Kernville Ranch is nestled in acres of green meadows in the Southern Sierra Mountains. Two wings, The Log Cabin originally built in the 1890s has two Bedrooms upstairs and a living room, kitchen, and bathroom downstairs. The Meadow wing is attached. The master ensuite bedroom looks out to the redwoods and meadows. A queen bed with a built-in bunk bed or reading nook. The kitchenette has a washer and drier, breakfast bar with stovetop, and fridges. The second living room has additional built-in beds.
