Based in Austin, Texas, ILC Films is a talented team of cinematographers. Coming from a wide range of backgrounds, we form an oddball group of unlikely videographers. That doesn’t mean we don’t know what we are doing, though! After more than 100 weddings under our belt, we’ve managed to pick up more than just a few tricks! With over 7 years of experience, I can honestly say we all get excited for each and every wedding we film. We tell our stories as elegantly and unobtrusively as possible. Our wedding films capture the events we cover precisely as they happen. Nothing artificial, nothing “cheesy”.

We are East of Eden, a videography team of two based in NYC, and we want to tell your unique love story. We want to capture the details, both great and small, of your love story as you begin your life together. We are a couple in love who know how to tell a dang good story about couples in love. We want to film what matters to you and would say our work is more documentary style, focused on filming how you naturally interact with one another. We don’t want to pose you, we want to be there like it’s a big double date (only we have cameras). We’re just trying to keep it fun, you know?

My passion for photography and videography all started in a darkroom I built in a closet under the stairs as a high school student. I loved the idea of composing an image within the frame and then watching the photograph materialize like magic before my eyes in the wash of chemicals. When I was 18, my dad bought our family’s first video camera. I was immediately fascinated with the new possibility of capturing moving images, and what I could further create with this tool. Intrigued by all the ways I could retell a story with not only still frames, but though an array of motions and sounds woven together. BMP has captured memories since 2003.

Brindle and Lark is named after my 85lb brindle pitbull that I’m obsessed with. I’m a huge animal lover in general and I also have a cat and a tortoise! I’m a little bit socially awkward but that doesn’t stop me from having a conversation with anyone and everyone. I’m a huge people person and love to laugh! I’ll gladly admit I’m not the photographer for everyone, but if getting married in the woods with a taco truck and a few friends around sounds like something you would be into, I’m sure we could get along. I always suggest that you talk to as many photographers/videographers as you can before booking one. Find the person that truly connects with you, and book them. Try to hire someone you would be genuine friends with. When you are comfortable and trust me it allows me to shoot uninhibited, and when I have freedom you get the best images.

I've always had the idea that I wanted to do wedding videography. I studied Mass Communications in college and worked at a local television station where I did weekend news packages and fell in love with feature story telling. One day I decided that I was going to start my business, it had been tugging my heart for so long and I was ready for my dream to become a reality. I did one wedding for a friend and was hooked. I knew it was what I should be doing.
About wedding videographers
What questions should we ask wedding videographers?
Aside from logistical questions about packages, pricing, and availability, it’s also important to use your conversation to get a sense of their personality. This person will be with you and your loved ones every step of your wedding day, including, if you want, in the dressing room! It's very important that you and your partner both feel comfortable with them and their working style. Talk about your venue, how you want to feel when you look at your video, and which videos from their portfolio you like best. If you have a photographer already, also ask if they’ve worked with that photographer before, or how they work with photographers generally—both will be trying to capture the same moments!
How much should we tip our wedding videographer?
A good tip ranges anywhere from $50 to $100—perhaps even more if they brought an assistant. If you’re using a larger company, the tip may be included in your contract or fees. Uncertain whether to budget in a tip? You can always wait until you receive your final video, then send a gift or a tip as thanks.
