Madison Krupp Photography

5.0

Johns Island, SC
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,200

I’m Madison, but you can call me Maddy. You should know right off the bat, I’m not your typical wedding photographer. As a journalist, I was trained to see the story in everything. Now, as a photographer, I use storytelling to connect with people. And the stories I want to tell are adventurous, unbiased, natural, emotive love stories. So let’s skip the small talk. I want to hear about your biggest life hurdles, your aspirations, your journey, and the things that ignite your soul. Let’s skip the pomp and circumstance, too. If your dream is to marry your partner on a mountaintop, I’ll grab my hiking boots.

Oh my goodness... Madison Krupp is an absolute gem. She has the kindest heart, and makes you feel completely at ease! Having her take our wedding photos felt so easy and natural - she has such a calming way about her that almost makes you forget photos are even being taken! My husband and I had so much fun spending time posing, laughing, and really taking in those special moments together. I absolutely adore our wedding photos, and will treasure them forever. We couldn't of asked for a better person to photograph our day - she captured every moment so perfectly. In a professional setting, she is wonderful to work with as well. I work at a wedding venue and absolutely love when Maddy and I get the opportunity to work alongside each other at weddings + events. She is professional, warm, and cares deeply for her clients and her work. Thank you for all you do, MK!

We're Natasha and Brian! A husband and wife, PNW elopement photographer duo. When we're not getting slimed by our own slobbery dog Fern, or helping you plan your dream wedding day, you can probably find us alpine lake lounging, making a weird new kimchi flavor, or deep on the forestry roads in our (always dirty) Tacoma blasting some indie alt or rap (there's rarely an in between lol). We're your photographers, die-hard dog petters, and donut-eaters that are all about playful banter, real conversations, and no icky small talk.

For me and my now-husband Ryan, the importance of finding an excellent wedding photographer was unparalleled. We discovered Natasha and immediately were drawn to the nostalgic, film quality to her work. We love the way she captures moments that feel both so real and so dreamy at the same time. It’s an art! Additionally, correspondence with Natasha was always a pleasure. She was speedy in her responses, always answered any questions, and just extremely down-to-earth and easy going. Our introduction to working with Natasha came from our winter engagement session. We chose to do the shoot at home and around our neighborhood in Seattle. Though we were still nervous in front of the camera, Natasha chatted with us and helped us open up. The photos from this December day were cozy, comfortable, and felt completely like us! And finally the Big Day arrived! Natasha and Brian photographed our July 2023 wedding and the results were just perfect - more lovely than we could have dreamed. On top of that, we loved getting to hang out with them! They made our wedding day feel calmer, more relaxed, and allowed us to just be us. We highly recommend Natasha and Brian for all your engagement and wedding photography needs. They’re the best!

I am a Colorado-based wedding & elopement photographer who travels documenting love stories worldwide! On the days I’m home, you will find me with my five little humans, my sweet + handsome husband & a cup of coffee. Exploring new places has always been a huge passion! Then photographing love became what I found myself the most drawn to. Documenting stories has led me to many destinations for weddings, and shoots! I would love for you to journey with me! Let's explore the downtown urbanscape or fly across the country or even internationally for an epic adventure, I want to make it a unique experience customized + tailored to your love.

1000/10 – HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I cant say enough good things about Kena and her crew. Her enthusiasm was infectious and made our wedding day even more special. She has an amazing energy and some great tricks to capture amazing photos. Kena went above and beyond to work within our budget. She was prompt with communications and delivered the photos a week earlier than our contracted agreement. All guests who interacted with the crew said they were lovely and complemented their service. We already have another mini session booked with her for next spring and I cant wait! I highly recommend Kena Iversen Photography!

Laurel Roots Photography

5.0

Hebron, KY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,500

I'm Abbey a Northern Kentucky-based photographer who loves making a safe and comfortable space for everyone while we work together. Capturing those beautiful candid moments are some of my favorite shots. I can't wait to capture your special day so you can forever relive those magical moments.

Of all the good decisions my wife and I made during our wedding planning, of which there were surprisingly many, hiring Abbey and Wes with Laurel Roots Photography was the best one. Warning: Long, gushing review ahead. I am naturally suspicious of photographers owing to a lot of bad experiences. Being a guy probably adds to that; I don't think dudes are generally as comfortable being photographed as non-dudes. A lot of photographers I've experienced in the past have been super serious, love to make me do silly poses, and/or just don't do enough good work to be worth the cost, in my opinion. Photographers generally make me uncomfortable. Abbey and Wes could not have been more perfect for our wedding if they had meant to be. From the get-go, they were super communicative and easy to work with. We did our engagement photos super late in the game due to immigration constraints, and Abbey didn't stress about that at all. We scheduled with her easily, and when we had to reschedule and re-reschedule, she didn't mind at all. Both photo days were very easy and laid back. Abbey and Wes are very chill and open people. They're good at their jobs without being serious about it. They made the photoshoots fun, and for me that's a superpower. There were no goofy poses (except the ones we decided to do because we were comfortable around Abbey and Wes). I was very happy with our engagement photos and was actually looking forward to the wedding shoot. I do not exaggerate when I say that Abbey and Wes ran our wedding day for us. They gave us a timeline and made sure we got everything done on time. This is not an extra service we paid for, they just know their stuff and do their jobs well. I didn't really even appreciate it all until after the wedding when I realized they basically served as wedding coordinators for us without us asking them to. They took a ton of stress off of us and we didn't even know they were doing it. That's not all the extra work they did. Most people will just do the job you give them and take your check. I mean, that's what doing the job is. Not Abbey and Wes. The day of our wedding, they took time out of the day of their own initiative to drive around the city and find the perfect spot for photos. Again, this was not expected or requested, they just did it because they're awesome. I guess I just expected to take photos at the venue, but they got all the wedding party and family wrangled together and took us to a great spot in Covington I'd never seen. And the photos turned out fantastic. I know I'm biased, but they're seriously some of the best wedding photos I've ever seen, and we paid half of what my sisters paid for theirs. You know your photographers are good when your guests are talking about them during the reception. I seriously cannot recommend Abbey and Wes enough. I will use them for any and all photoshoots I ever need until the end of time. My wedding day was an amazing experience, and I owe a lot of that to Abbey and Wes. They went far above and beyond what we expected, and the memories we have from the wedding will last of a lifetime. Those memories wouldn't shine nearly so bright without such great photographers.

Welcome! I’m Jose, a Southern California wedding & portrait photographer. It's about more than hiring someone to hold a camera and snap a few pics. Wedding photography is about carefully crafting and capturing the moments of your big day in a way that beautifully tells the story of your love. Our images have been described as candid, emotional, moody romantic, airy and timeless. My photography evokes feelings of genuine love & affection and strive to capture such moments throughout the day so that you both can remember all the little details. Our goal is to create images that tell the story of your wedding day in the best way possible.

Jose is such a pleasure to work with and his work is STUNNING! He has such a calm & positive energy, which is always appreciated on a wedding day. On top of that, he's highly skilled at both photo AND video. He's attentive to the details and is diligent about capturing the range of unique & personal touches. That being said, he's also fantastic at capturing those candid & special moments that we all hope to see. His technical skills are top-notch and his work is absolutely gorgeous. He really is a gem of a person, a photographer, and a videographer. Highly recommend!!!

Photography by Things to do in Salem

5.0

Salem, MA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000

Alyse Grimm is the creator behind Things to do in Salem [dot] com. In addition to working in tourism in Salem, MA she is also a wedding photographer with 5+ years/100+ weddings of experience and her work has been published on major wedding platforms. Her knowledge of the north shore combined with her experience makes her a natural fit for your north shore wedding. Alyse's style is photojournalistic with an eye for small details. She is less fond of posed photos. Alyse is open to travel but is giving priority to weddings on the North Shore of MA and to weddings that are non traditional/showcase the individuality of the couple.

Alyse worked with my fiancé and I for our engagement shoot at Beacon Hill. Since we are from out of town (NY) and the shoot took place at the height of Covid, this required some strategic planning on both ends. Alyse was so kind and flexible to work with. She assured us that even if last minute changes due to Covid had to happen, she would work with us. I was very stressed with the entire situation, but Alyse’s calm, reassuring personality put my mind at ease. She has many great ideas, but also listens to your vision and is open to doing shots that you like. We loved the way she captured who we are as a couple, in a place that is special to us. We received many compliments on our save the date cards which featured the photos from our shoot. If you are looking for a photographer who is easygoing, open minded, and knows the MA area well, then Alyse is your girl!

Caliyah Hart Photography

Charlotte, NC
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,000

Hi! I'm Caliyah! I'm your super energetic gal pal behind the camera! I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in the Charlotte, NC area. I specialize in capturing the love and raw emotion between two people who are totally and completely into each other.

The only word I could think to describe Caliyah is perfect. She listened to what we wanted, we had a vision, and we worked together to make it happen. Her photos are not the kind that seem overly edited, they genuinely capture the raw emotions of your wedding day. Which I appreciated in the moment but will definitely appreciate in the years to come looking back on our pictures. She gives a clear timeline for how long we should expect to get pictures back and she has been correct and timely every single time. She is personable, easy to talk to, and overall just a good person in general. She rocked and I cannot recommend her enough!

Lexx Creative

San Diego, CA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,050

Hi, I'm Alexx! I grew up in San Diego and went to school in Malibu to study media production & math (I know, weird combo). Since then, I've lived in both Point Loma in SD and in West LA, so I'm always popping around all of SoCal! I absolutely adore weddings for the love, celebration, joy, and romance, so I want to make sure those are your main feelings throughout the day! What that means is I will always remain a calm presence in the chaos to help keep you grounded, but also blend into the background to give you space to just experience your day!

I don't even know where to begin. Alexx was hands down the best photographer we could have asked for. From the start she was supper communicative and within a day of inquiry, we had set up a time to chat and get acquainted. She is incredibly professional, but still super personable! We had so much fun with her at our engagement shoot, and the photos were INCREDIBLE. Her style is so organic and she makes you feel very comfortable from the start. She gave us so many tips leading up to the wedding about what to have ready for her and at what time, while still being super flexible with us if we needed to adapt. Day of with her was a breeze, too! She lead us through all of our photos and we wrapped up family photos quickly enough thanks to her that we were able to spend more time with our guests/family before the reception which was amazing! She had our previews to us within a few days and we are OBSESSED with every photo!! We cannot wait to see the full gallery :) Thank you so much for everything, Alexx!!!

Ruzin Cunningham Photos

5.0

Atlanta, GA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,000

I want to capture all your in-between moments, those are my favorite, the way you guys sneak looks and steal kisses. I don’t want to be just another person who shows up and waves a black box in your face. I want your photos to represent your effortless connection, the closeness with your person, and all the other things that make you guys YOU! I am inspired by your love and I want to capture YOUR raw and real story. I want to tell it through my photos. And the fact that no else has been in my shoes, I see the world through eyes that no one else has. That’s what makes me different. Also NO TRAVEL FEE anywhere in the states!!

We got married in June 2022, and even now looking at our photos and video has us in disbelief at how Ruzin beautifully captured our special day. It’s like we’re viewing someone else’s wedding, but it’s actually ours! Throughout wedding planning, she went above and beyond for us and we can’t truly express our gratitude. She takes the time to get personal and get to know you well and understand your vision to help take it to the next level. We’ve seen many wedding photos, but hands down ours were the best. Choosing her was the best decision we made!

I realize you have been searching for a wedding photographer to capture your special wedding day. You and I both know that a wedding is a commitment and it is not just a party. It is a memory you want to remember for your lifetime. I am committed to documenting this experience for you and letting you be able to remember your wedding 30 years down the road.

I would only recommend this company. Lindsay is the absolute best, easy to communicate with and will answer any questions you have and honestly she takes a lot of stress off of you. She is very organized, professional and extremely detailed. Her images don’t just capture a moment, they make you feel like your present while looking at it. Her pictures are magnificent and original, she does an amazing job editing and getting them back to you in a timely manner. I had an engagement session with her and admired how personal and professional she was. It was the best combination I didn’t feel weird or nervous at all, she made the process so easy and fun! Following she shot my wedding day and let me just say phenomenal doesn’t even cover how amazing she was. I absolutely loved how she gave sneak peaks the night of when she captured the images. I would not choose any other photographer then her, she is the absolute best. She is sweet and so down to earth and you can tell she has a passion and a gift for capturing your special moments. She will be the only one taking images of my family, she’s just that good! 10000/10000 would recommend!

Stylish and Hip Weddings

Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,600

I am Jenny & I started Stylish Hip Weddings in 2008 with an incredible team of women documenting weddings for the fun of it! At heart, I am a TOTAL design nerd, funny meme enthusiast, Type-A organizer and homemaker. My photo career started as a photojournalist working with the New York Times, Newsweek and Glamour magazine. I have photographed in over 50 countries and I once photographed Lin-Manuel Miranda before he was mega-famous. We hung out for the day and he freestyle rapped for me. He is rad.

Stylish Hip Weddings did a fantastic job on our wedding photography! Jonica photographed our wedding and took so many beautiful shots that we'll cherish forever. We debated whether to splurge on photography and are so glad we did because the photos are amazing! It's priceless to have our special day captured so beautifully. Jonica went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and get to know us before the wedding. She traveled up to Westchester from Brooklyn to see our wedding venue and meet for a meal/wine so we could get to know each other. We felt from the beginning that we were in good hands, and she put us at ease the whole night. Thank you for your beautiful work, Stylish Hip Weddings!! If you're looking for a wedding photographer, look no further! Just book!

Love and Lore Photography

Fredericksburg, VA

I'm Caty-Scarlett! Owner and crazy woman of Love and Lore Photography. I document love through a documentary driven perception and I would define myself as a wedding photo historian. I shoot lovers particularly in Virginia and across New England. Take me anywhere! Some places that are close to home are Dalton, Ohio. Boston and Provincetown, Massachusetts. Not to mention Shenandoah National Park and Coalton, WV.

Caty-Scarlett (and her second shooter, Sean) were an ABSOLUTE JOY to work with for our Shenandoah wedding! She jumped right into our vision and took the time to actually get to know us as a couple and the style we were looking for (documentary-esque/non-staged/natural). Clear, honest communication and incredibly helpful throughout the process on a very compressed timeline. She captured our family and friends emotions so beautifully over the course of our long weekend celebration and truly created pictures that we constantly reference. Attentive to the details, flexible and didn't pressure us, even took the time to remember our immediate family's names for group shots. Outstanding human being, we can't wait for our next adventure shoot!

hey! i’m luca. i’m the one who wants to watch you dance in the rain, the one whose eyes can’t leave the sunset, & the secret hopeless romantic. i’m your storytelling, chess-playing, always-cold bohemian. i’m the mountain-climbing, shower-singing, stress-baking artist that found life behind the lens. i’m the one who can’t help but find you beautiful. I get to show you how perfect the creases by your eyes look when you’re belly-laughing. those candid seconds of what I call “free joy”- are everything to me. you ever notice the way ‘the one your soul loves’ looks at you? i do. let me show you :)

Luca photographed our wedding and did a wonderful job. She was responsive throughout the whole process and flexible to our needs. She had great ideas for fun prompts for the two of us in our couples session. We especially liked her ability to capture more candid and natural moments.

I met Cassie at a Wedding in 2022 as she was the photographer and I was the videographer. I immediately admired how relaxed she was and didn't get uptight like some I've been around. She is very interactive with the couple and always has a way to get them comfortable to capture the best photos. Several weddings later and I still love watching her do her thing. She's very creative and is not afraid to get dirty (literally) just to get that shot.

About wedding photographers

How much does a wedding photographer cost?

Wedding photographers early in their careers can cost as little as $1,500. Super experienced photographers, as seen in magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair, can cost upwards of $30,000. The range is wide, but, in general, you can expect to spend around 10% of your budget on wedding photography. Rates also vary based on wedding length, the services you want, and location. A photographer based in an area with a lower cost of living, for example, will be less than one based in New York or San Francisco.

How much should we tip our wedding photographer?

A good rule of thumb is to tip 10% of their rate, or at least $100. If they’re bringing second photographers or assistants, an additional $50 to $75 per person is an appropriate and nice gesture.

What questions should we ask wedding photographers?

Aside from logistical questions about packages, pricing, and availability, it’s also important to use your conversation to get a sense of their personality. This person will be with you and your loved ones every step of your wedding day, including, if you want, in the dressing room! It’s very important that you and your partner both feel comfortable with them and their working style. Talk about your venue, how you want to feel when you look at your photos, and which photos from their portfolio you like best.
