Under the new name of McKellar Ranch, their son, and our current owner, Farmer Bob McKellar, still farms the same citrus orchards that his father Hugh planted years and years ago. Spanning generations, the farm has been many things to many people. This place has been home to countless memories that have helped mold and shape lives. Alice planted cacti & succulents by hand throughout the land. With her husband, Steve, a ranch-style home was built in 1936. It later became a diner + tiny inn; a gathering place for locals and wanderers to rest, refuel, and nourish with a homegrown meal. That ranch-home is what we call Big Sur Bakery today.
