For our wedding, we were looking for a unique venue that could fit our 115 guests and bring our dream vision to life, and FruitCraft nailed it! What really drew us in was the space. The plants are gorgeous and all the details/vendors made it so easy to select decor. This was a huge help for us because we didn’t want to be stuck planning lots of little details leading up to our wedding. We also included their bridal suite in our plan, and it was one of the best decisions. Getting ready with my bridesmaids was a blast, and the minimalist-chic decor set the mood for some memorable pre-wedding shots with my mom and sisters. What really relieved our stress was the assistance we got from start to finish. Having onsite food and drinks took a load off our planning stress. FruitCraft's team took it to a whole new level for us. So, a massive thank you to FruitCraft for making our wedding dreams a reality!

The Carlsbad Windmill is a beautiful venue and I loved having it as an all in one package. It made wedding planning so easy while still being customizable in many ways. We had an amazing day and everything went smoothly. As a bride, I did not have to worry about much. My only caution is that they can change the food options at their discretion so the food that is there when you book with them may have slight changes when you get to closer to your actual wedding date. This was not a big deal for us but they did change the filet mignon option to a sirloin. Other than that, every one we worked with there are kind and helpful. They are quick to answer any questions you have throughout the whole process. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to plan a wedding in the area. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are all on the same property/building which makes a very easy transition for the guests from place to place. Many beautiful options for photos on site as well along with the beach and flower fields close by.

I cannot stop raving about this venue and the whole event planning team. We had such an amazing experience having out wedding at the Horton Grand Hotel, it makes me want to do it all over again. The venue itself is beautiful and provides a perfect romantic setting for an outdoor wedding. Planning a wedding this year during COVID was nothing short of difficult but Jennifer and the whole event planning staff were so helpful and understanding throughout the whole planning process and really made planning this wedding and keeping our original date so easy. Jennifer constantly kept us updated on the current status of the hotel and was amazing at relaying information related to closures and events to us. She was knowledgeable about the restrictions and helped us plan for a day that was not only perfect in every way but also provided safety to our guests. It was a pleasure having our wedding at such a beautiful location and we were so pleased with how it all turned out and the responsiveness of the staff. There were a number of last minute challenges that made our planning stressful, it was worth every stress and the staff at the Horton Grand Hotel helped us through every set back allowing us to fully enjoy our day. Plan your wedding today at the Horton Grand Hotel, you definitely won't regret it!!

With its unique, upscale experience, whimsical cocktails, classically-flavored food, local craft beers, and boutique & artisan wine selections, Union Kitchen & Tap has been spell-binding for tourists and locals alike since 2011. A comfortable, casual environment with breezy coastal charm offers the perfect setting to enjoy creative New American cuisine inspired by regional and seasonal culinary trends and made from scratch with herbs and vegetables grown onsite. It comes as no surprise that Union Kitchen & Tap has been named one of the top 100 restaurants in America, and was awarded Ranch & Coast Magazine’s “Best Neighborhood Hotspot” in 2015 & 2016.

If you are looking for a place to host your next event, then check them out! My husband and I had our wedding reception at Union Kitchen and Tap in Encinitas in October. We were blown away by the service provided and fell in love with the atmosphere, the food, and the support from their staff. The staff totally killed it! Amazing food, personalized drinks that our guest LOVED and would not stop talking about, and let's not forget about the friendly service. Our wedding day could not have been possible without these guys. One of our favorite memories is watching the Union team members dancing, singing and having fun along with the 80's Flashpants band. A special shoutout to Amy, Union Kitchen and Taps event coordinator! Amy made the overwhelming process of wedding planning fun, easy and truly enjoyable. She is personable, down to earth, kind and radiated a calming presence that helped ease all the nerves that come along with a big event. Her knowledge and experience in the field shows and her passion for making our vision come to life was evident. She was extremely patient with us and took the time to understand our vision and then was able to execute it with such grace. Amy supported all of our menu changes and day of event schedule changes with ease. Anytime we had an idea, she made it happen.... no questions asked. She really went above and beyond to make this day perfect. We can't even begin to explain how blessed we were to have Amy be a part of our day! C&S Randolph

Flora

5.0

San Diego, CA
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor

An event at Flora presents itself polished and turnkey with features like wainscot walls, custom doors, and bespoke furnishings. Visualize lofted ceilings, a 70-foot long living wall, two 12-foot custom skylights, hanging garden chandeliers, and over 130 plants. The amenities give the venue a life of its own with a state of the art sound system, wooden house tables, chairs, movable partitions, and built-in color LED lighting. To top it off, Flora blends an entirely renovated interior with original, exposed wood beams from its initial construction in 1922 as a tribute to our past. We invite you to walk the botanically-lined path of Flora’s entrance and into a space unlike that of any San Diego event venue before it - we have made a statement; make yours at Flora.

I have so many positive things to say not only about Flora, but also about the wonderful people who work there, that I just don't know where to start. My now fiancé and I moved to San Diego a little over two years ago and while exploring our new neighborhood we walked past this somewhat nondescript building with interesting metal gates and lettering in greenery, but we had no clue what the building was for. Being curious, I immediately went home and did some research and what I found can only be described as a hidden gem. Inside the building is a room full of beautiful greenery, a live tree, and the best bathroom wallpaper I've ever seen. Safe to say I was obsessed; however, I was not engaged yet so I tried to play it cool. Fast forward a few months and a ring later, we went to see Flora in person and it was everything I imagined and more (custom lighting options I didn't even know I needed until I saw them). It was the only venue we toured and we haven't looked back. Beyond the beautiful space are all the beautiful people who are part of the Flora team. Everyone we have met with at Flora has been kind, encouraging, and excited to be a part of our big day. We have been fortunate enough to work with them even more closely than originally planned. Part of the Flora venue contract requires each couple to have a day of coordinator which was fine with us (we need all the help we can get). While couples have the option of bringing in an outside coordinator, Flora does offer full and month of coordination services through the venue. Considering my fiancé and I both work in industries that leave us incredibly busy for large chunks of the year, I was immediately interested in a full service coordinator and who better to do it than someone already familiar with our chosen venue. My fiancé was not as easily convinced and was not sure we would get huge value out of paying for full service coordination versus a day of coordinator. However, he was eventually convinced and we chose to do the full service coordination through Flora. Enter Elena who has been nothing short of a saving grace. Not only is she incredibly sweet, but she has worked so hard answering all the questions we have had, updating floor plans for us, creating short lists of vendors to choose from, working with vendors to create quotes that matched our vision at different price points, and so many other things behind the scenes I'm sure I can't even begin to articulate. Working with Elena has even convinced my dubious fiancé full service coordination is so worth it! While I don't think there is another space in San Diego that can check as many boxes as Flora can, there is one item I do want to note about the space to couples who are planning weddings with a larger guest count. In the initial stages of our planning we had anticipated inviting around 150 guests for both the ceremony and reception. While Flora can definitely comfortably accommodate that many guests, in the process of discussing our floor plan options with Elena we realized in order to best utilize some of the wonderful and unique features in Flora's space, notably the moving partitions, a guest count closer to 130 would be a better fit. To us it is worth having a few less guests in order to use some of the features that made us fall in love with the venue! This turned into a much longer narrative than intended, but I hope this helps someone in the planning process. If you choose Flora I'm sure you won't regret it.

I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing my experience with Verbena was. I am a wedding photographer by trade, so I have not only been to hundreds of weddings, I’ve worked them. When it came time to plan my own wedding, I knew I wanted something intimate and unique, and WOW did Verbena deliver. Not only is it the CUTEST on the inside (great for photos) but the food is life changing. It’s not just “good for a wedding” food, it’s incredible period. We had custom cocktails created by their in house mixologist, and Ronnie the head chef came up with a custom seasonal menu just for us. One of my guests described her meal as “magical”, and many more said it was the best food they’ve EVER eaten at a wedding. If you are planning a small wedding and want something unique, classic, and DELICIOUS, run. Don’t walk.
