I have spent years in hospitality, fine dining, IT support, you name it. And the most important through-line in my work has been relationships. Relationships you make with people are sometimes more important than the job you do, not to dismiss the job as something to be sloppy with, but to say there is only so far that accomplishing the job can make a person feel seen and heard and special. And I feel there is no more important nod to that philosophy than weddings, where sure you can just make a wedding film and it will look good, but to truly get this once in a lifetime event and art project something TRULY special!

I began my filmmaking journey all the way back in middle school (which is further back than I care to admit), making silly videos with my friends. My name is Chief and I'm the founder of Chief the Creator. This business came about from my passion for shooting and capturing stunning imagery. I started out with photography but soon found a stronger passion for videography. I love creating cinematic videos and being able to capture all of the most important moments of your big day and turning them into a beautiful, telling love story. While I have gravitated towards videography, my wife Amanda has fully taken over the photography aspect. Her love for photography and her ability to connect to our clients is unmatched. In Fall 2006 we first picked up a camcorder and sat down at a brand new editing computer. After graduating from high school Darius later attended Robert Morris University and graduated majoring in Finance. For Darian went to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh majoring in visual effects and motion graphics.
