I’m coffee obsessed, currently binge-watching something on Netflix or listening to Maximum Fun Network podcasts while working. I think that getting to work with fresh flowers, from down the road or all over the world, then arranging them into something stunning for customers that will see them and feel emotionally inspired by is a wonderful way to spend my time working in this world. Sophia is the creative force behind Botanical Preserves. Raised in an artistic household, she’s worked with multiple mediums over the years, with five years of experience in floral design. Having a fascination with the realm of plants and their healing powers, Sophia surrounds herself with botanicals and their many elements. The concept of floral design as a living, restorative, art form gave her a deep respect for flowers and their unique personality. Their nature of fragility adds to their elusiveness, and gives her the opportunity to exhibit the never-to-be-replicated side of her personality every time she works with floral product.

Providing something hand made, locally made from start to finish is a special touch that I’m excited to share with you. For that reason, I source as many of the flowers I grow as possible for arrangements. When I cannot use my own, I make every effort to source from local farms. Supporting local families is also important to me.

Having spent the majority of my childhood barefoot in the avocado orchards of Southern California, I was born with a deep connection to the outdoors. It started on a small vegetable farm outside of Seattle. A love of growing vegetables turned into trying my hand at growing flowers. Eventually, a niche was found and I started growing flowers for weddings. Growing flowers turned into a love of making bouquets and designing centerpieces. Along with that, came a love of getting to know the couples I was working with, understanding the vision that they had for their wedding day, and finding the decor that would bring that vision to life. I love setting the mood of an event with beautiful lush flowers and decor that make you and your guests feel welcome.
