Chef Cuellar and his entire team are incredible. From the first call, it was obvious that he and his team cared about making our wedding the magical day we had always dreamed about. Even though we lived in Philadelphia and needed to come to a tasting on the weekend, they made it work with their schedule and completely blew us away with the menu they prepared based on our first few meetings. Incredibly professional but also warm, inviting, and easy to talk to and express ourselves around. When it came to the big day, he and his team were ready to go despite a few last-minute curveballs. Our guests thought the food was amazing and continued talking about it well after the wedding ended. We cannot recommend enough Chef Cuellar and his team for weddings. They are candid about what they can do and what it might take to make it happen! For background, we had a wedding of about 70-80 and did a Mediterranean buffet style for the main course with a charcuterie board during the cocktail hour. For dessert, they prepared churros as well as multiple types of gelato.

Green Fork Food

5.0

  • Starts at $1,200
  • Serves Sodus, MI

After working in the food industry for years, I got fed up with the low quality of food and service that was being offered in the west Michigan area. I wanted to be able to provide creative and unique foods that are locally sourced and created from fresh ingredients from local farms and business. The way that we are able to provide amazing food is we have invested in a mobile kitchen to ensure your food is made to perfection on site, rather than being transported from A to B in hotboxes where quality is lost like most restaurants & caters.

The personal chefs were incredibly personable and professional, bringing creativity and fun to my plated dinner event. I loved how they stayed with their mission to bring fresh, local foods to our table. They were worth every penny and I would hire them again for future events

Chive Catering + Events

5.0

  • Starts at $2,500
  • Serves Sodus, MI

Operating out of Farmington, MI, Chive Kitchen is a wedding-catering business known for their eclectic and fashionable cuisine. Drawing inspiration from California’s fusion cuisine and European flavors, lead chef Suzy Silvestre has developed a distinctive menu that features classic and cosmopolitan dishes. Serving special occasions throughout the Detroit area and beyond, this company aims to complement your big day with a wholesome and palate-pleasing dining experience.

We hired Chive to cater our wedding and Suzy to be our day-of-coordinator. Suzy was amazing to work with - she impressed us immediately with how knowledgable she is about everything wedding-related. She was extremely communicative and patient with us (we had a lot of questions), and she made sure everything turned out exactly as we hoped. We had some unique requests, both food-related and event-related, that she happily accomodated. She and her staff did an amazing job setting up our decorations and creating a beautiful food display (appetizers, dinner, and desserts). They truly went above and beyond on our wedding day so that we had nothing to worry about. And the food was absolutely amazing! We had an entirely vegan wedding, and we successfully tricked/impressed our picky family members who couldn't believe the food was vegan. We did a charcuterie spread for our appetizers, 3 buffet stations for dinner (Italian, Cajun, and Mexican), and a dessert spread that included both of our favorite desserts. We would highly recommend Suzy and her team!

KNCO Private Dining & Event Catering

5.0

  • Starts at $1,000
  • Serves Sodus, MI

Many beautiful and amazing moments happen throughout life while dining with people that we love in places that we cherish. With KNCO Private Dining & Event Catering, our guests are able to relax and relish in those moments to a tune of euphoria. After over 15 years in the hospitality industry, both in chef and service roles, I began mentally developing the idea of KNCO as a brand itself. The concept of this started as & remains under one umbrella; using our refined skills in personal service to create a deserved feeling of tranquility, as well as preparation & execution as a medium to stimulate and satisfy your senses of both scent & taste.

Great service all the way from planning through our wedding day. Very transparent when planning with pricing and expectations. Incredible quality and appearance of all the food from plating to table setup. Just overall incredible service and food. Would highly recommend!

Navarre Catering and Events

5.0

  • Starts at $2,500
  • Serves Sodus, MI

We are a chef-driven company; we use the very best ingredients and will do anything to make your event a success. When you hire Navarre Catering, we are more than just your caterer; we will go above and beyond to ensure your day is a success. because of our network of restaurants and venues, we have the ability to pull from our numerous local chef, servers, bartenders and other staff, which puts us in the perfect position to give you the service you deserve. Because we’re local, we know you’ll be seeing us around town and we want to make sure that when you do, you’ll be able to share with us what a wonderful experience you had.

We cannot say enough positive things about Navarre Catering and Events. If you need a catering vendor for your wedding weekend, then Navarre is a great caterer to choose. We worked with Christine, our senior event specialist, and she did a fantastic job helping us navigate all the details of banquet event planning. We contracted Navarre for a Welcome Reception the night before the wedding and for the Wedding Reception itself, and both events were perfect! Our events happened in August 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic and they still went off smoothly. Christine helped us develop a strong plan for guest and staff safety and handled all the venue coordination as well. The food and service staff were excellent at both events! Christine made the awesome suggestion to have a family style platter service for the reception meal to help maintain social distancing, and it, along with the food quality, wound up being one of the most talked about aspects of the reception that our guests LOVED! Our experience working with Christine was comfortable and we really felt like she had our best interests at heart adapting as the planning details changed due to fluid pandemic conditions. We highly recommend Navarre and Christine for your wedding event.

First and foremost, let me be clear. The food was tasty, everything arrived on time and my guests were fed. End of day, thats all you could ask for. Right? So if that's all you need, then I think this caterer definitely checks all the boxes! There were some things we loved about this vendor and somethings we didn't. Starting off with the (many!) positives : - The day of the staff was professional and knew what they were doing - The variety of menu options were pretty substantial - We acknowledge that we were an extremely unique wedding with a really tight budget, we appreciate Danielle's communication and flexibility with us during this time. - Set up went exactly according to our notes and requests - Danielle was very knowledgable / experienced Some Negatives : - Over half of guests (especially family) recalled never seeing our late night pizza being passed around, yet somehow I went home with 8 boxes of leftover FULL pizzas. If we just didn't have enough pizza, that would have been on us. But the fact that we had so much pizza, that we actually had leftovers and over half my guests complained about not seeing the pizza, is upsetting. - We definitely had to repeat ourselves a lot to Danielle. In Danielle's defense, we had a ton of questions and our wedding coordinator started a few one off threads with her as well. So I'm sure it got confusing. But there were definitely times I had to answer the same question more than twice and it made me SUPER unconfident for the day of. Which just isn't what I needed to feel. - My sister made and decorated our cake. On the day of, she had to go into the kitchen to finish the lettering and she expressed that Nick not only made her uncomfortable with his active hostility to the team, but also started adjusting parts of her cake presentation before she could finish. - I want to stress that we were definitely difficult in the sense that our budget was SO small and we needed to count every penny. Danielle revised our estimate so many times in the very beginning, which was so great! But one month before our wedding we needed to refine the meal plan again (which is allowed!). But she refused to revise our estimate until the week of the wedding. Which if you have all the money in the world, fine you can wait until the week of. But if you're struggling to make the ends of your wedding meet, then yeah. Pretty hard to wait until the week before. Near the end, every communication with Danielle felt like she was frustrated and over us. We KNOW we are not her only wedding, and we know we were not her biggest spenders. But near the end the team started making us feel more like a nuisance than a client. We spent the month of our wedding in fear of being dropped. - Danielle knew we were at our wits end with money. Which is why we found it extremely distasteful that she contacted us to ask why we didn't tip. For the record, we had every intention of tipping after the wedding via zelle, but needed to wait until some of our check deposits cleared. But her asking us why we didn't tip, no less then 48 hours later made us feel extremely uncomfortable & punished. - We felt fought just about of every step of the way with a lot of our decisions. Which is pretty upsetting. I understand needing to protect yourself and your business, but thousands of dollars later we just want to feel confident our caterer had our back too.

I am a private Sushi Chef with more than a decade of experience. I first learned the Japanese Art of Sushi in Venezuela. I continued practicing this multidisciplinary craft in 3 countries before I settled in Chicago, IL, where I live now. Sushi making is a very personal experience for me and I enjoy creating something unique with the food colors, textures, temperatures, and flavors.

I cannot speak enough good things about Franco and the experience he provides to his customers. He is communicative and clear in process leading up to the event. Once he arrives, he brings all of his own materials which takes hte stress out of a chef cooking in your own home. The food is absolutely incredible. He finds the freshest fish in the area and has an expertise in mixing flavors together. The most fun part is experiencing the chef cooking in front of you. This is especially fun for anyone with bar stools where you can watch him at work. He brings fun tools like blow torches and fryers to give you a full in restaurant like experience. And finally, nothing beats an evening with Franco himself. He is such an interesting person with a diverse set of life experiences. We could sit and talk to him for hours. In the past, we have bought a bottle of Japanese whiskey which we drink with him while he cooks. This is a great activity or date night for a special event like birthday or anniversary or just to change up your normal routine. We cannot recommend Franco enough!!!!
