The year 2022 marks two important milestones for the Whiddon’s; 15 years of marriage, and 10 years of filming weddings. Both are extremely humbling and exciting achievements. Whiddon Productions started as a passion and a side hustle. Today it continues to fuel our creative interests, it satisfies our entrepreneurial spirit, provides for our family, and blesses our clients with a look back at one of the most important days of their lives. Hello! My Name is Mary Winford. I am a DC wedding photographer who loves shooting weddings in Washington DC, but I shoot other places as well. I'm always excited to explore a new area. I was born and raised in North Carolina. I now live in Fredericksburg Virginia. It was a big change considering I've lived in North Carolina all my life, but I still travel back and forth to see my family. I am happy I have many awesome pictures to look back at when I miss them. Family and sharing memories with the people I care about is so important to me. That's one of the reasons why photography is so important to me.

I believe in loving and laughing and taking full advantage of the time we've been given. I'm a smile at strangers, hold the door open, start a conversation in an elevator type of girl. But believe it or not, I'm a bit of an introvert as well. I crave solitude, naps and pizza on the regular. But hey, I'm a wife, mom of three teenagers and business owner, so solitude, naps and pizza are like staples for sanity, right? I find my peace in the mountains. I travel any chance I get. And I mean ANY chance. Hot tea gets me excited and I could live in the bathtub or shower. Oh and cheese. If you need to know something about me, know cheese. 

I began my photography career learning from some phenomenal artists all over the country. I spent time with them learning and honing my craft. After making my mark in the corporate field crafting engagement content I began covering local events for The Free Lance-Star where I still occasionally freelance. I have been shooting weddings for the last couple years and I love every minute of it! I am a hawk for real moments of love, feeling, and joy. I take great pride in my work and giving back to my community.
