Rue Bourbon Events is a collection of historic spaces within the heart of the French Quarter. Our flagship 207-year-old building is housed within the same structure as the famed Old Absinthe House bar and offers three-floors of private event space. Rue Bourbon Events is a perfect fit for wedding welcome cocktail receptions, wedding after-parties, and goodbye brunches. We offer elevated beverage service with craft and signature cocktail menus available and partner with local legend Cristina Quackenbush to deliver stunning catering options. Spaces within our flagship building can be combined to offer cocktail-style reception space for up to 230 guests. The three floors are united via a spiral staircase. We do offer two satellite spaces for more casual affairs--think collegiate events and rowdier wedding afters. These two spaces are located at 201 and 400 Bourbon Street and do feature limited catering menus due to their lack of an on-property kitchen.

House of Broel was built as a story and a half family dwelling in 1850 in the Garden District of New Orleans. In 1884 the family decided they needed room for weddings and parties so they had the house lifted, making it a two and a half story mansion that we use today for events as they did back centuries ago. The Victorian style makes for the perfect romantic setting for your wedding, as well as the enjoyment of being on historic Saint Charles Avenue with its access to many five star hotels and the Street Car line.

Want to host your ceremony with us too no problem. Our custom-built removable walls and floor to ceiling curtain will help to create two separate spaces. Laurenia is housed inside the Pythian Temple which has a history of remarkable local significance. Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green, then one of the most prominent African-American businessmen in New Orleans, commissioned the construction of the Pythian Temple in 1908. The Pythian immediately played an integral part in New Orleans early civil rights movement. It towered over the surrounding neighborhood and became a center of the African American community. Since its inception, The Pythian Temple hosted popular performing groups and African-American carnival balls. The venue led to the formation of the Zulu Parading Club and even housed a popular rooftop bar known as “Piron’s Garden of Joy.” It is said that a young Louis Armstrong first played at The Pythian Temple. Laurenia is named after Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green’s wife. She assisted him in running his business, was a member of the NAACP, and was active in the early struggle for civil rights.

The Terminal, located at Lakefront Airport, is a New Orleans Tradition, dating back to the 1930's. At the time of its grand opening it was considered an architectural masterpiece. Built by the same architect that designed the Louisiana State Capitol building, it was the first major airport in the region, and served proudly as a general aviation airport to this day. Inside the terminal building, travelers would find an Art Deco wonderland, featuring murals by artist Xavier Gonzalez, friezes by Enrique R. Alferez and an array of stone wall and floor treatments. Messina’s at the Terminal offers four unique Event Rooms: The Atrium, Walnut Room, Observation Deck, and Huey P Long Room!
