I got my start many years ago when I was living back home in Chicago, at a cute little bakery, that I still visit to this day! I went back and forth between working in graphic design to cooking and baking. I started working in the bakery at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center as a part-time line cook in 2013 and in 2015 a became their in-house cake designer. In 2019 I decided to leave my position at the hotel and opened Sugar Flower Cake Design. I love seeing the joy when my clients cut into their cake and take their first bite - it makes life much sweeter! - Jennifer Smith

In 2010, Amy began creating and decorating cakes for family and friends and from there, her passion for cake design bloomed. The start of Sprinkled Confections came about shortly after in 2015. Sprinkled Confections is an insured home bakery, operating under the Iowa Cottage Laws in Eastern Iowa, in the small rural town of Holy Cross. Amy holds a certificate of completion from the Home-Based Food Operation: Food safety and Regulation Training.

Try Pie is a social enterprise that uses employment as an opportunity to engage and equip young women for their futures. We believe in using work as a tool for equipping our teens and strengthening our community. Try Pie would love to cater pies for your next event!

Feedwell Kitchen & Bakery is a dream realized through the friendship of chefs Melanie Abu-Nameh and Holly Ervin. Like many friendships, theirs began with margaritas–well, a margarita tennis event where Melanie probably had a vodka soda and Holly a gin and tonic. But, nonetheless, they discovered similar passions for family, friends, travel, and FOOD! This is where “Kitchen”(Chef Mel) met “Bakery” (Chef Holly).
