Bayliss Park Hall
Council Bluffs, IA

The former Elk’s building was built in the colonial-revival style of architecture. Wide porches, supported by large columns, extend along the entire front of the building, with the upper balcony extending over the entrance in artistic architectural detail. On October 21, 1900, the cornerstone was laid for Lodge No. 531, B.P.O.E. on the north side of Bayliss Park in the heart of Council Bluffs. The inside of the building is furnished in classic Victorian style with rich burgundy and green hues. The original cigar stand and bundle counter is located immediately to the right of the front entrance. The grand oak stairway curves to the right and to the left and draws you up to the second-floor reception area and a ballroom that features a hard maple floor and mahogany-paneled walls. The Prelude

5.0

New Virginia, IA
  • Up to 165 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $6,500

prel·ude noun "An introductory performance, action, or event preceding a more important one." The Prelude was dreamed up by a couple who craved a feeling they had only experienced in far off lands and story books - They knew there were others out there who dreamed of running away to places that gave them that whimsical feeling again but couldn't see themselves ever doing it - So they decided to create a place that brought that whimsy and feeling to them - The result is one of the best & most unique venues in Central Iowa, located just 30 minutes south of Des Moines. The Prelude is for authentic people who crave a romantic dream from a vanished age. The Prelude isn't only a place that should be seen - It should be experienced.

We highly recommend The Prelude for any couple who is looking for something different for their wedding venue. With their black & white marble flooring, gold pillars and a vintage chandelier hanging from their high ceilings giving the space a glow. Its the perfect space for your dream wedding!

Community Courtyard

5.0

Plattsburg, MO
  • Up to 350 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $100

As a non-profit organization, Community Courtyard is dedicated to providing over 10,000 square feet of facility space at below market rates. The graceful brick arches of its architectural design has made it a choice location for families, businesses, and schools to host weddings, events, and celebrations. From elegant dinner affairs to burlap and boots, the Community Courtyard lends its self to any type of wedding theme you and your guests will remember for a lifetime.

With a short engagement and a tight budget, we were having a hard time finding a venue. On a whim, I randomly found Community Courtyard. Little did I know it has been a town staple in Plattsburg, MO for 20 years as an event space. The building itself is very historical, dating back to the 1800's. This building is a non-profit and runs as a food bank throughout the week, so you know your money is going to a good cause. They came at very reasonable price (about 70% lower than most places we looked at). Not only that but we got a lot of bang for our buck. They had decor we could use, a sound system, a cute bridal suite, they tore everything down for us for a small fee, and were super flexible with scheduling. It also holds a lot of guests and has ample kitchen space on both floors. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

Lilac Hill

5.0

Louisville, NE
  • Up to 300 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor

Lilac Hill is a family owned 80 acre property in Louisville, NE, about 25 minutes from Omaha and 45 minutes from Lincoln. The original founders of Lilac Hill, Don and Bev Maxon, bought this old run down property in the 80's and set out to create their own arboretum. There are dozens of old growth trees, hundreds of blue spruce, and thousands of flowering shrubs and plants, which provide beautiful color and depth everywhere you go. The space combines elements of BoHo, Rustic, Elegant, and Industrial in a romantic natural landscape. So many of our guests comment that they don't feel like they're in Nebraska anymore! The property is enclosed by trees, providing a feeling of seclusion and exclusivity where your guests can hang out under our 100' tall cottonwood trees and smell the lilac scented breezes. With seating inside for up to 300 guests, our space can accommodate nearly all party sizes. Come visit soon for a tour!

We are so happy we chose Lilac Hill to have our wedding ceremony and reception at. The property is beautiful, with so many different sites available to have the ceremony at (we chose in front of the old barn). Chris, the owner, was so easy to work with and very responsive. We were really happy with the pricing as well, and all the things included in the packages they offer. They also have lots of decor available to use for free! On our wedding day, everything went perfectly, and a big part of that was because of the help from Chris and Winter. We also really loved the bartenders that worked our wedding! If you’re looking to have a rustic/barn wedding, we truly can’t recommend Lilac Hill enough. You’ll be so happy you did!!
