Rhythm Society Orchestra is a 16-piece big band specializing in vintage swing music of the '30s and '40s with a good helping of later Sinatra and friends, authentically re-created. It's music as people remember it and want to hear and see it performed. Classy, professional, experienced and turn-key! We're as sharp looking as we sound, too. Booked by the best hotels, country clubs, agencies, wedding planners, municipalities, historic locations, corporations, philanthropic and wedding receptions (the latter are a specialty!) Add our jazz combo for cocktails, solo pianist for dinner, etc. Top shelf, high-energy entertainment.

A Big Band that plays and looks authentic: Personable, well dressed and organized. This band comes to play and entertain your audience. A different and memorable performance: every. single. time.

Authentic Sounds Dj

5.0

Smyrna, DE
  • DJ
  • Serves Pennsylvania for additional fees

I’ve been djing for 20+ years now and I love what I do, and having the wedding couple have the best time ever on their special day. I’ve been Djing for Larry Holmes’s at his annual golf tournament and recently was the Dj at a Lonestar, and Rodney Atkins concert.

We highly recommend Chris and his live, energetic DJ talents, professionalism, crisp sound mix, and experience for any occasion, truly a memorable experience. We had the pleasure in hiring Chris to DJ/VJ at our wedding in October 2017 celebrating our special day with memories that will last a lifetime. Chris exceeded expectations with his energetic personality, video music, sound system with a great selection of music genres old school or new school, Chris has it all - a 5 star rating!

Cause and The Effects

5.0

Staten Island, NY
  • Band or Ensemble
  • Starts at $8,500
  • Serves Pennsylvania for additional fees

Based in Staten Island, New York, Cause and The Effects is an enthusiastic band comprised of young musical professionals ready to perform at your wedding. The band was founded in 2011 but the versatile members have been playing together and separately for more than two decades. You can choose between a seven-, eight-, or 10-piece band to perform at your reception, while smaller groups can perform during the ceremony and cocktail hour. Show-stopping music is performed with a variety of instruments such as horns, percussion, saxophones, flute, and piano. They are based in Staten Island but are willing to travel to destination weddings.

If you’re considering a live band for your wedding reception, look no further than Cause and the Effects. We hired the full 10-piece band to play at our wedding reception on 9/23/23, and that was undoubtedly one of the best decisions we made. From our initial calls all the way through the actual event, the band set themselves apart and proved to be far more than a standard event vendor. They were completely invested in giving us the best experience possible. Vin and Anthony took the time to get to know us, our interests, and how we wanted the event to flow, and used all of that information to put together an amazing set. Our reception had a few unique twists, and the band took each of our requests in stride with enthusiasm and professionalism. Leading up to our reception, Vin communicated with some of our other vendors to make sure any intersecting elements (for example, audio/video and lighting) went smoothly. And day-of, the full band’s talent and energy blew us away. Once the party started, it did not stop for a single second. We, the majority of our guests–and eventually, some of the band members & instruments themselves!--were going wild on the dance floor the entire night. Even the non-dancers in the crowd were sitting and enjoying the music with huge smiles on their faces. Throughout the event, many people pulled us aside so they could tell us how much they were loving the music…and in speaking to guests afterward, the first thing every single person mentioned was how incredible the band was. And talk about a personal playlist–not only did they create a completely unique rendition of our first dance song (Starlight by Muse) to match our dance choreography, but they also delivered a huge surprise. In our consultations, we’d mentioned how important the band Linkin Park is to us…so Cause and the Effects learned “In the End” just for us, and delivered a phenomenal performance as one of the closing songs of the night. It was so meaningful, and it’s something we’ll never forget. Please don’t hesitate to make Cause and the Effects one of the first vendors you book for your event. "Five stars" is not a high enough rating!

Mariachi Hidalgo N.Y.C

5.0

Astoria, NY
  • Band or Ensemble
  • Serves Pennsylvania for additional fees

Mariachi Hidalgo was founded in 2017 and is led by our Musical Director Hernan Hidalgo Treviño who is a first-generation musician within his family. At the age of 21, Hernan is New York City’s, as well as the East Coast’s, 1st ever “Youngest Musical Director of a Mariachi Band”. Hernan graduated from the CUNY of Hunter College as a Music and History major to better prepare himself for both the musical and culture of mariachi. Within the first 2 years, Mariachi Hidalgo has performed in some of New York's exclusive places. Hernan's main goal is to inspire and motivate other youths to continue this musical tradition of mariachi.

My name is Kiyoko Nakamura, my husband is Mexican American, and I am Japanese. We celebrated our 15-year Anniversary here in New York City on December 18th, 2021. (We are from California) I wanted to surprise my husband with a Mariachi Band (he loves Mariachi) that offered quality in service and performance. I have a M.M from Kyoto University for Music & Art, and I fully understand what I was looking for in a Mariachi band. I investigated each Mariachi band here in NYC, their quality as musicians, social media, reviews etc. Many mariachi bands stated, "they are the best" or "Number 1 in NEW YORK CITY", but I can assure you all from looking at their YouTube performances & social medias that they are NOT. A few did play back, had a CD recording of an actual PROFESSIONAL band in the background while these so called "Best in NYC" made it seem as if it was them performing, FALSE advertisement. Once I saw Mariachi Hidalgo NYC, directed person with a B.A in Music & History. (Having a degree in any accredited field is one way to ensure the person knows what they are offering.) I investigated everything about this ensemble before contacting. YouTube , Instagram, all their social medias in order to understand whom I was calling. After checking out everything, proper technique on their instruments and vocals, no play back, presentable, quality musicians. I knew this band was going to be AMAZING! From the moment I called to book them until the performance's date this is what I received. A very professional service to not just me but my husband and guests as well. Very detailed in terms of explaining the full booking process, punctual, proper technique on their instruments & voice, an amazing show that interacts with the crowd. This band had it all! Everyone loved it! Visual Aspect:/ Performance Technical playing, clean suits, well groomed, presentable. 100/100 If you are looking for a mediocre or an economical option or a group to just make noise regardless of how they sound. Then I would not recommend this band for your event. If, however, you are looking for a PROFESSIONAL band to make your special moments even more memorial. Then YES, I recommend this band too you, Mariachi Hidalgo NYC! You will not be disappointed. Overall: Quality, Punctual, Presentable, Professional, Show/Performance, Amazing service from start to finish. If we ever visit New York City again, we will definitely contract Mariachi Hidalgo again for all of our events. Best Regards, Kiyoko Nakamura Master's in Music, Kyoto University for Music & Art

Clarity Music Productions
South Plainfield, NJ
  • Production company
  • Starts at $8,000
  • Serves Pennsylvania for additional fees

Clarity Music Productions is born of a vision. After playing at weddings and private events for nearly 20 years, Brad saw how communication has changed, and how the event music business failed to change with them. He watched as discerning clients and couples sought more personalized experiences at their weddings, yet the bands continued to perform using standard playlists with few requests. He realized there can be a better way for clients to be a partner in designing their event music experience. As with flowers, cakes, menus, and stationery, event music can be personalized for a tailored wedding experience for clients and their guests.

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Erich Cawalla and the rest of the Uptown Band. As we continued to try and schedule and reschedule our wedding during this pandemic, Erich was there every step of the way with us. We spent hours on the phone talking out different scenarios and situations to where we could make our BIG day happen, and he would time after time explain, "Vince, I'll play anytime, anywhere. We're going to make this happen!". This is a true testament to the type of people Erich and the rest of the Uptown Band are. Aside from being incredible to work with, their body of work speaks for itself!!! Erich is an incredible performer and musician, and the rest of the band is just as talented. They don't only just play great music, but they all know how to perform. Their ability to get a party started, keep it going, and leave the entire crowd wanting more is exactly what we wanted for our wedding. We could not have chosen a better group to help us celebrate than Erich Cawalla and the rest of the Uptown Band.

Devin Arrington, Virtuoso Violinist

5.0

Pittsburgh, PA
  • Solo performer
  • Starts at $450
  • Serves Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh's Premier Solo Wedding Violinist! I'm a professional, award-winning violinist and composer with tons of wedding experience. Whether you wish for elegant classical music, toe-tapping fiddle tunes, or a favorite popular song, I can help you find that perfect sound! I offer high-end wedding sound at an affordable price. The instrument on which I perform is a gorgeous sounding violin made by MacArthur "genius" grant winner, Joseph Curtin. For outdoor weddings I use a Fishman SA330X Performance Audio System which provides terrific amplification without sacrificing the purity of acoustic violin.

Devin was absolutely wonderful when he played for my wedding in October 2018. Not only is he unbelievably talented, but he made the whole process very simple and easy for me (a very stressed bride!). He gave me a few options of songs I could use, and happily accepted my song ideas, as well. He worked so well with my church’s music director and figured out times they could practice together. All in all, Devin was kind, helpful, easy-going, relaxed, SO talented and truly made the music aspect of the wedding such a treat. I highly, highly recommend him.

JIM LOFTUS Pianist/Singer/1-Man-Band/ORGANIST

5.0

Catasauqua, PA
  • Solo performer
  • Starts at $300
  • Serves Pennsylvania

I am a pro pianist/singer/keyboardist and Church organist performing since 1983 in the Lehigh Valley of PA prominently but also Philadelphia/Philly suburbs/MontCo/Bucks/Chester/Berks; also extensively in NYC/NJ; trips include Syracuse/Albany NY, Alexandria VA, Atlanta GA and Las Vegas for private events. I play wedding ceremonies and receptions/private corporate events/birthdays/anniversaries/house parties on either a provided piano OR as a "one-man-band" on my YAMAHA PSR1500 keyboard. I'm a Church organist as well since the late 1970s if that was a need a client was seeking.

We knew we made the proper decision immediately. From the very beginning Jim reached out to us to share examples of his work, his song selections (and boy are there so many different genres to choose from) and assist us with suggestions that seemed to work for previous guests. As we got closer to our event, Jim continued to “check in” with us. We felt very comfortable and excited and Jim did not disappoint us. He not only played our requests, he played all of the musical requests. He was amazing. He had energy, played and sang extremely well, was professional and helped make the whole evening just perfect! He even followed up with us afterwards ....”just checking in”. What a guy - dependable, professional, talented and fun. We could not ask for more.
