Amy Gofton’s twin passions have always been fashion and flowers. She worked in fashion for decades, ultimately overseeing accessories as Vice President of Design at Kate Spade. There, she honed the skills of developing brand stories, layering textures and color, and understanding how shapes interact with space.

Her journey started at the age of six years old, Melissa-May was surrounded by all aspects of creativity. Her ability to visualize things, put them onto paper and create anything from scratch was also apparent at a young age when she completed an illustration of her dream house, then constructed an entire floor plan and a model house made out of popsicle sticks. Furthermore, at the age of 12, her friend’s mother noticed Melissa-May’s gift of artistry and requested that she create cartoon place cards for her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. My name is Maggie and Blooming Iris Designs was inspired by my daughter. After 7 years as a wedding coordinator and being laid off due to covid, I wanted to find another way back into "wedding world."
