In 1972, 70-year-old Ben Vanderhook tore down old barns in Mahaska County and surrounding counties to create our beautiful barn, located a stone’s throw south of Oskaloosa, Iowa. The 3½ acre property includes a 147×46×60 Quonset hut barn, open fields as well as mature shade trees. Debbie’s Celebration Barn is one of the most extraordinary and romantic settings for a Midwest wedding or special event. The event space in the barn is spacious with many options for originality to fit your occasion. Both east and west ends of The Barn feature large double French doors which add to the charm as well as aid in cross ventilation on warmer summer evenings.

Nestled amongst 12 acres of vineyard in the scenic countryside just south of Des Moines, Summerset Winery is a truly unique venue for your upcoming event. Our banquet hall and outdoor ceremony space can seat up to 250 guests and our tent can seat up to 400 guests! Be it large or small, our facility offers a beautiful venue for every type of event. Also located on the vineyard just steps from the winery is the Inn at Summerset Winery, which is a bed & breakfast style home available to rent for your wedding party. Our event space is perfect for Baby showers, Bridal showers, and small receptions. What started as a photo studio for the Farmhouse Photography crew, became a venue dream when the owner found a stunning historical location nestled in the heart of Olde town Altoona Iowa. Built in 1900, this gorgeous space went under some minor renovations to allow an open floor plan, ample light, and lots of farmhouse chic charm. We look forward to serving our bridal shower groups here in our brand new space!
