We received so many compliments from all the guests for the quality of the live band we had; and to our joy, the dance floor was always brimming with people. We happened upon the band’s website via The Knot’s suggested music provider list and absolutely loved their sample videos, songs, pictures, and testimonials. From the get go, Laraine was a pleasure to work with - always clear, on point with her answers, considerate, personable, and compassionate. “I truly cannot put into words how amazing our entire experience was from start to finish. We found John and Avec L'Amour through our photographer, Heather Soucy. She told me that her family even used John for her brother's wedding because of everyone she has worked with, she trusted him to document their special day in the best way. That spoke volumes to me. When I say these two are a 'dream team' I am not kidding. As someone who had never been professionally photographed or video'd before, I was really nervous about looking and feeling awkward. John made my husband, Mike, and me feel SO comfortable throughout the whole day. It was so cool seeing these two incredibly creative minds feeding off each other to get the best possible shot. It was a little rainy on our day and they actually took video/photos of us inside a puddle reflection--I mean who thinks of that?! We were running a little late to the reception when our portraits were supposed to be taken and John knew we didn't want to miss too much of cocktail hour. We were able to get the most beautiful shots in just 30 minutes, including drone, which was super important to us. The Avec L'Amour team got absolutely stunning video without us feeling like we had cameras in our faces all night. We booked John for the 8-hour package, but realized we were not going to be able to get the bouquet toss or cake cutting in that time frame. NO worries!! John offered to stay an extra hour to capture the remainder of the evening. Now for the deliverables: we got our first teaser video back within 3 weeks of our day and I was absolutely blown away. We received the full gallery which included a 1 minute teaser, 3 minute trailer, and the full 1.5 hour long event not even a MONTH after our wedding day. It was just like watching a move of all our favorite people and he captured the day so perfectly. I cannot say enough: RUN, don't walk to book John and Avec L'Amour for your special day!! “I had the most beautiful bouquet for my City Hall civil ceremony, but no firm plans for the bouquet post-wedding. My florist friend shared Jackie's contact information with me and I contacted her to see if she had the capacity for a last-minute bouquet preservation. Luckily, she had availability and a few hours later, I was taking an impromptu day trip to Cold Spring with my husband. Jackie met us at the station and was so incredibly kind. She gave us a few suggestions of eateries to check out while we were in town. We had a symbolic ceremony a week later and I was so pleased with the service received with my first bouquet, that I asked Jackie to preserve that bouquet as well. Throughout both bouquet preservations, Jackie was very responsive and answered any questions I had. “Stanley was truly the MOST communicative vendor we worked with throughout this process, from the moment we inquired, to the moment we got our sneak peeks. I always heard back from him usually within minutes (sometimes seconds!), but never longer than an hour or two. I always see the horror stories about brides not receiving their photos or not hearing back, but I never had to worry about that with Stanley. We also got our one minute teaser and about 60(!) sneak peek photos less than 24 hours after our wedding was over (about 1 pm the following day!). I could not believe the speed and they are SO good! His style and Allie’s style is so beautiful and it’s truly bringing our day to life so we will always have physical memories to look back on. Day of, Allie (our main photographer) and Stanley (video) arrived early and got drone shots of the venue and were quick to get to work when they found me in the bridal suite. I had so many photo requests for family photos and they worked fast (despite there being a lot of chatter), and got it all done so quickly. The second shooter (Ryan) was also amazing and had a fun time with my husband and his groomsmen. He also was great at getting shots of some of our family members without us (i.e. my parents, my sister and her family, groom’s parents) so we could be as productive as possible and have family photos, too! We decided to keep them an extra hour (9 hours instead of 8 ) and Stanley came to us about 30 minutes before the end of their service to check since we still had some things in the schedule we hadn’t gotten to yet and had offered and shared the cost to do so. We decided it was worth it and got so many more amazing photos. I cannot wait to see the full album in 8-12 weeks! And I will recommend Stanley and Allie to everyone in the meantime because everyone deserves to have their day captured as beautifully as they did for us!”

“Highly, highly recommend the Barnstorm for a wedding or any event. We hired them for our wedding the last weekend of September 2019 in Montauk, and they absolutely put the night over the top! First and foremost, they are a great band; not your typical “wedding band”. They aren’t cookie cutter (i.e. you won’t hear them playing the same songs that you hear at every wedding) and they certainly aren’t stiff. They vibe off each other and the room. They are legitimately having a fun time performing with each other and that permeates throughout the room. Everyone will be up dancing, singing, drinking, and sweating their butts off, and having a blast! What to expect: -Professionalism. Brooks responds promptly and covers all bases. No detail will be overlooked during the planning stages. Day of, they get to the venue well ahead of time to sound check and make sure everything is sounding perfect. During the event, they are great at providing direction and making sure everything runs smoothly. -Personalization and flexibility. The guys truly care about making the event as special as possible and are very open to any idea to bring the event over the top. In addition to our “special request” songs (which they nailed) the band was incredibly gracious at my request to join them onstage to “surprise” my wife and guests by playing a song along with them. It could not have gone over any better…my wife was thrilled and it absolutely brought the house down! -Party! They know what will get everyone up and moving. Their catalogue of songs is well over 200 and it includes all decades and genres. Multiple guests commented that they didn’t want to leave the dance floor to get dessert or go to the bathroom because every song was such an amazing jam. The Barnstorm is absolutely worth every penny. We knew they were the right band for our wedding the first moment we heard them at Hill Country, and we feel so lucky and grateful to the guys for playing our wedding. On top of it all, my wife, friends, and I get to continue to relive that night by seeing their gigs throughout NYC! We simply cannot say enough great things about The Barnstorm.”
