Juliane James Place is a wedding venue and vacation rental carved into the middle of the woods in the middle of Minnesota. Weddings are really fun at Juliane James Place. And that makes us really happy. We are an inclusive, welcoming space with a history of diverse ceremonies. Most folks have dogs or love them dearly. In 1900, Frank D. Stout inherited part of his father’s lumber fortune, moved to Chicago, and within a few years was one of the wealthiest men in the country. Stout's was built in 1903 by Frank D. Stout as a summer retreat for his family and modeled after the famous Adirondack camps. Over the past 25 years, new cabins have been erected and we now have a total of 43 guest rooms on the Island. Imagine a ceremony on the South Lawn with panoramic views of Red Cedar Lake or a tranquil gathering in the former Stout Family master bedroom with a wood-burning fireplace.
