I was born and raised in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and a recent grad of the University of Iowa. My love for all things food doesn’t have a starting point, it has always been part of my life. I started The Bun Bar in hopes of sharing my love of baking with others. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing happy customers and bringing people together to enjoy a sweet treat!

My passion for photography and weddings began when I was very young. I staged Barbie weddings, making their dresses from Kleenex, then snuck Mom’s camera to take pictures of them. I moved on to dressing up my little sister in a pillowcase veil, again sneaking Mom’s camera. When she got tired of me using up all her film, she brought home several Bride magazines from the free pile at the library and I spent hours reading them, then pinning pages of beautiful wedding dresses on the ceiling of my bedroom. When “The Wedding Planner” came out in 2001, my fate was sealed

My name is Michelle, but my friends call me Meesh, so you can too! Most days you can find me editing pictures at Starbucks, working on home projects with my husband, and probably drinking absurd amounts of sparkling water. I've lived in Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Iowa, and currently live in Northern Illinois so you could basically say my heart belongs to the Midwest. I take weddings and sessions all around the Midwest and really all over the country! I’ve been told I’m the “mom” of the friend group and I LIVE to be over prepared!

Hey there, I'm Rachel! I'm the lady behind the lens and the passion behind the story. I like backpacking on the North Shore, dreaming up my next travel plans, and picking up a good book before I have time to finish the last one. I have two dogs that know all the commands but do whatever they want to on a regular basis, and they are my couch buddies for nights when I settle in with a glass of wine and an episode of Friends! I’m a foster parent and I’ve been riding that rollercoaster since December of 2020. My life is never boring and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

She holds a degree in Hotel & Restaurant business management, was the Private Dining & Event Manager at The Edgewater Hotel from 2016-to 2018, and is a member of the Beta Beta Psi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. China Moon is an eager reader (and dotes on Stephen King and Dean Koontz novels.) She loves aged Brugal Rum on the rocks with lime.

I have studied fine art photography long before I ever started taking portraits of other people and shooting weddings. Fine art photography was my beginning, creating conceptual and authentic art that spoke to me and told my story was what I started with and then I started blurring that line between fine art and documentary. I started documenting other people and their lives in the same way that I created my own work intended for shows and galleries. That is how I came to the style that I shoot now, still blending the two parts of my life.
