CONDON, MT
  • Up to 130 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $6,000

The River House is a rustic boutique wedding venue located in the wilds of Montana! We are in Condon, Montana, sitting between The Swan and Mission Mountain ranges. The River House Wedding Venue is 80 miles from Missoula, MT and 64 miles from Kalispell, MT. The Swan River and Glacier Creek run through the property. We are an original, log home homestead from 1924 and two original barns, one of which serves as the bar and the other an area to relax and recharge. A spacious, 1200 square-foot gathering area is the perfect place for great conversation, memories made, and time spent amongst friends. The River House is on three tiers. The first tier is the buildings and stage with the Swan Mountains as your backdrop. The second tier is a large grassy meadow for tents, outdoor eating and dancing under the beautiful Montana skies. The third tier holds many ceremony options, the river, the forest or perhaps the confluence! The River House is where love lasts and lingers.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Rustic yet refined style
  • Offers full flexibility in setup and decor
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • No all-inclusive dining options

We had the best day ever at The River House. Wedding planning can often be stressful with everything that goes into it, but thankfully we never had to worry about the venue. Donna and Rad have an amazing spot and it's not like any wedding venue we have ever seen before. The backdrop is unbelievable and the river provides a calm presence and a nice reprieve on a hot day. We will definitely recommend this place to others. Thanks for helping make our day perfect.

About wedding venues in Lakeside, MT

Why Is Montana an Incredible Wedding Destination?

Montana weddings offer the kind of jaw-dropping backdrops you simply can't find elsewhere. Picture exchanging vows with dramatic mountains framing your ceremony or celebrating in authentic ranch settings that capture the true spirit of the American West. The Meadows on Rock Creek lets you say "I do" in fields dotted with wildflowers while Sage Lodge positions your ceremony against the stunning panorama of Emigrant Peak and the Yellowstone River. What makes Montana venues truly special is how they seamlessly blend natural beauty with western heritage, creating spaces where your love story unfolds beside alpine lakes or under that legendary big sky Montana is famous for.

What Wedding Venue Types Define the Montana Experience?

You'll discover distinctive venue personalities across Montana that each offer their own flavor of western charm. White Raven Venue & Retreat in Alberton creates the perfect setting for intimate gatherings with indoor and outdoor spaces that showcase mountain views from every angle. If you're planning something larger, Star M Barn in Belgrade delivers authentic ranch architecture with gorgeous exposed timber beams that will stun your guests.

Need accessibility? The Big Yellow Barn near Bozeman offers fully ADA-compliant facilities with climate-controlled spaces that ensure wheelchair access without sacrificing any of that rustic Montana charm. Hardscrabble Ranch provides beautiful settings with convenient lodging options right on site while Sage Lodge gives you various spaces to choose from, each highlighting a different aspect of Montana's natural beauty.

How Much Should You Budget for a Montana Wedding?

Wedding costs in Montana vary based on how many people you're hosting. For 50 guests you'll need around $22,778 while a gathering of 300 guests jumps to $90,483. Most couples with 150 guests spend about $52,229 on their Montana celebration.

Guest CountEstimated Total Cost
50 guests$22,778
100 guests$37,959
150 guests$52,229
200 guests$64,980
250 guests$77,732
300 guests$90,483

Venues typically cost between $8,300 and $10,200 which represents about 18% of your total budget. That's actually slightly lower than the national benchmark where couples spend $6,500-$12,000 or about 25% of their total wedding budget on the venue alone.

What Are Montana's Top Wedding Vendors Worth Budgeting For?

When planning your Montana celebration look at venues that offer more than just space. Riverhouse BBQ & Events combines gorgeous ceremony areas with authentic Texas barbecue while Gallatin River Lodge serves local cuisine using fresh ingredients from the region. For a 150-guest wedding your vendor costs will typically break down like this: venue $9,243 (18%), catering $7,395 (14%), bar services $5,916 (11%), florists $5,724 (11%), videographers $4,977 (10%), photographers $4,622 (9%), planners $3,555 (7%), bands/DJs $1,400 (3%), cakes/desserts $761 (1%) and hair/makeup $750 (1%).

When Should You Book Your Montana Wedding Venue?

Montana venues typically book 14 months ahead with June being the busiest month for inquiries. If you've got your heart set on a prime summer weekend at a popular venue you should plan to book two seasons in advance. Winter dates offer more flexibility and often better availability if you're working with a shorter timeline.

How Can Montana Venues Accommodate Special Needs?

You'll find The Big Yellow Barn offers excellent ADA-compliant facilities with climate-controlled spaces and plenty of accessible parking. Looking for venues that can include remote guests beyond basic streaming? Consider customizing your Sage Lodge event with interactive virtual guest experiences or check out The Ranch at Rock Creek where they can create bespoke experiences that include virtual access to various wedding activities for those who can't attend in person.

What Makes Montana Wedding Venues Unique?

Montana venues deliver experiences that simply can't be replicated anywhere else. Your ceremony could feature unobstructed mountain views that will leave guests speechless or take place at venues like Riverhouse BBQ where outstanding food perfectly complements the natural beauty surrounding you. These distinctive settings transform weddings into immersive Montana experiences that showcase the state's natural grandeur and rich western heritage in ways that will make your celebration truly unforgettable.
