Constructed in 1871 by Bavarian immigrant Philip H. Zorn Jr., Barrelhouse The Venue resides on the historic Zorn campus. As an annex to the brewery, Barrelhouse The Venue would manufacture beer barrels to house fresh beer prior to distribution around Northwest Indiana. Though unoccupied now, the original ice-house, brew-house, and malting building still stand across the street, a reminder of the dream Philip Zorn brought with him to America.

The bar also provided high-quality, locally-sourced drinks for our guests, adding to the classy, elevated experience. “I cannot recommend Thornton Distilling Company enough. Kim, the event coordinator, is incredibly responsive and a pleasure to work with. The space is unique and great for a small to mid-size wedding. Our pictures were fantastic and that's largely because the venue itself is such a cool space. We got a lot of compliments on the food and the chef is also a pleasure to work with. I would consider using them again in a heartbeat for future events.”
