This venue and their staff.. words can’t explain how amazing and perfect everything was. They all made us feel at home and felt like family by the end of the weekend. We will be here for you every step of the way during planning and we also coordinate your big day so everything runs smoothly without any hitches. Well maybe only one “hitch”😉

I honestly don't know where to begin from the beginning Heather was amazing. She was extremely helpful when touring and her prices are fair and the venue is gorgeous. Heather and Hope had amazing communication throughout the process we had it booked 2 years in advance and I always felt like I knew what was going on. At our kick off meeting to discuss vision and florals Heather saw my vision and ran with it. She did a better job than I could have even imagined. It looked straight out of a style shoot the perfect coastal garden vibes that fit the theme so well. We both have creative mindsets and I had 100% trust in her the entire process. The day of Heather was there to manage and issues and just make sure everything went smoothly and myself including my guests can say it was the best wedding we've ever been too. I still have guests a month later complimenting me on my day and how it was the most fun wedding they've attended. The flow of the venue leaves for so many cool memories and the decor is extremely customizable. 10000/10 recommend this venue!

Historic Edwards Place

5.0

Springfield, IL
  • Up to 75 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor

Edwards Place, built in 1833, was a social center of antebellum Springfield. In its gracious parlors Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, Ulysses S. Grant, and other Illinois luminaries gathered at elegant parties and balls. You, too, can have your special day in the same rooms where Abraham and Mary Lincoln were guests more than 150 years ago, now meticulously restored to the grandeur of their antebellum days. Edwards Place is available to rent for showers, weddings, and receptions – the perfect choice for a distinctive event in a historically significant setting. You can even include extra services for your event, such as the use of a piano often heard by Abraham Lincoln (and possibly played at his wedding!). Our rental space has three areas of possibility - the historic house museum, the grounds in front of Edwards Place, and the M.G. Nelson Gallery, a part of our parent organization, the Springfield Art Association, and directly attached by a doorway to historic Edwards Place.

The Edwards Place is a beautiful site! The staff were very helpful and flexible allowing us to visit the site multiple times, they were open regarding their seating arrangement, and due to the nature of the site it is fully decorated. The site was beautiful and the wedding was as well! The historic charm of the home added to the romantic feel of the day. I would recommend this site to anyone looking to get married as it is wonderful all around!

Located in the heart of Collinsville, Illinois, Gateway Convention Center provides 11 different event spaces that can be used for wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and more! We understand how important your wedding day is because, it marks the beginning of your new life together as a married couple. Spectra Food Services & Hospitality is the exclusive, in-house caterer at Gateway Convention Center. Although we do not allow outside food and beverage, we do make exceptions for wedding cakes. I really can’t say enough about Jeff, Amy, Ashley, and the rest of team at Gateway Center. They did their absolute best to make our wedding spectacular. Did we have hiccups during the process? Sure. But nothing that would make me hesitate recommending them. They customize pretty much everything so that you have things exactly as you want them and take care of everything on your day so that you don’t have to worry about a thing. And they’re so flexible. I had some family who were throwing them curve balls at the last minute and they took everything in stride. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated that.
