“Almquist Farm was the perfect venue for our winter wedding! Communication with the team was very organized throughout the planning process, and they worked closely with us to ensure every detail was taken care of. On the day of, the venue was absolutely stunning - the historic farmhouse and surrounding grounds were beautifully decorated and well-maintained. The Almquist staff was there to support us the entire day, helping to make sure everything ran smoothly. We got married on a very cold January day, but the cozy, intimate atmosphere of Almquist Farm made it truly magical. In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.
