The town of Navasota was founded in 1854 and the tracks brought the railroad by 1859. One of the first buildings built here was a hotel, built by Ms. Louisa Loftin. She was quite the ambitious widow for a woman during the late nineteenth century. Conflicting research shows the hotel was either built as early as 1860 or as late as 1876. She soon met and married P. A. Smith and the hotel bore his name. At first, the railroad brought a great number of patrons, but, unfortunately, the Civil War brought the economy of Navasota as well as the success of the hotel, down, after only a few years.

The Villa Tyler is a one-of-kind, beautiful, Italian-inspired wedding and event venue space, located on 50 acres of private landscape. The Villa offers two beautifully created ceremony locations. Although we are known for our breathtaking outdoor ceremony terrace and grounds, we also offer an elegant indoor ceremony venue, perfect for those not so perfect days outside.Having an outside reception is a beautiful idea but it isn’t always a realistic idea in Texas. We designed our one-of-a-kind reception ballroom to give you the feel of sitting outside under the Tuscan sky. The Marriott Houston North has just undertaken a beautiful renovation. We have wonderful event space that is total separate from the guestroom portion of the hotel. In May of 1914 Houston real estate investor and industrialist George H. Hermann announced publicly his intention of deeding to the City of Houston 285 acres of this property for a municipal park across the street from the Rice Institute and thus Hermann Park was born. The Ballroom at Tanglewood is the newest event venue and the sister location of The Ballroom at Bayou Place. With over 6,000 square-feet of customizable space on just the upper level, The Ballroom at Tanglewood is located in the Galleria area and offers free on-site parking. The Lower level, assessible from the main stairway, adds almost an additional 4,000 square-feet of space for your wedding day needs. From the first dance to your last, your guest will be absolutely dazzled by all the space has to offer. Our team consists of in-house Chefs and staff that will amaze; buffet or seated. As for décor, our team also has seasoned industry professionals to help perfect your wedding day. India House Facility Banquet Halls in Houston are beautifully designed halls to cater to any occasion. Celebrate weddings, receptions, engagements, birthdays, baby showers, graduation, corporate meetings or any other special occasion at our elegant and extravagant banquet halls. With many halls to choose from, we can accommodate anywhere from 60 to 300 people in banquet style. We have projector and screens in all the halls to make your occasion more memorable. India House being a nonprofit organization, our rates are very competitive.
