Renowned “movie palace” architect C. Howard Crane designed Detroit’s historic Garden Theater, a commission he earned after he opened his own firm in Detroit in 1908. In addition to the Garden Theater, Crane has 250 theaters to his credit, 62 of which were built in Detroit, like The Majestic, The Fox, Orchestra Hall, the Detroit Opera House, and The Fillmore Detroit. One of the city’s earliest neighborhood theaters, the Garden Theater opened to the public in 1912. With its 900-seat capacity, it was one of the largest theaters built outside downtown; it originally hosted live stage shows and motion pictures. As the name implies, Crane cleverly incorporated vines, birds and other garden-style decorations in its design to immerse patrons in an outdoor-like experience. After decades in ruin, the theater underwent a multi-million-dollar restoration and was rededicated in 2013, a century after its initial debut, as part of Midtown’s vibrant resurgence.

Built-in 1848, the wedding barn was originally a working farm, used as a hay and milking barn on the Briggs family 500-acre farm. Once the family moved on, however, the property slowly fell into disrepair, including the barn. Luckily, right away Joel had an amazing vision for what could be the ideal spot, he saw the potential like no other for a unique Irish Hills Wedding location and was happy to buy the property in 2017. Sweethearts will work closely with event planner Bella. She can provide the couple with everything they need to host a successful event. Included in the facility package is set up & clean up, all dinnerware and barware, tables, chairs, linens, and lighting. Catering will also be provided in-house, served in a buffet style with the help of the venue's servers. The couple's special day ends with a sparkler send-off.
