At the beginning of 2012, my wife- Vickie and I made a major decision to re-brand our company name from VIG Designers LLC to Joie Elie photography, named after two of our beloved daughters Joie and Elie. At the 10th anniversary of our wonderful marriage, my vision is that Joie Elie Photography is a boutique studio owned and operated by the family with a personal touch and always keeps the best interests of the next generation in mind (after all, we only have one earth).

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York...in a large and value-minded neighborhood, where the sense of community was part of everyday life. Surrounded by lessons of resilience, passion and kindness, and armed with a young man's exuberance for adventure, I traveled around the East Coast with a backpack in tow. Being pragmatic by nature, I found work as a line cook, sous chef and butcher...a far cry from the creative field I would eventually find a home.

Our philosophy is simple: Use high quality ingredients and prepare them in an old-fashion manner. This means roasting meats over a wood fire or slow smoking from burning embers. It's "the way my grandmother made it, and how her Mom taught her" done in the 21st Century. We never settle for second best, and always have guests' satisfaction as our top priority.
