South Church is a historic church in downtown Portsmouth, built circa 1825. There are no religious requirements to use the church for your wedding ceremony; you can use the officiant of your choice as long as they are legally allowed to perform a ceremony in the state of New Hampshire. South Church has a complete sound system so that couples and/or officiants can be heard, as well as use of the piano and/or organ, MP3 hookups, and pre-ceremony holding rooms. We work with many local florists, photographers, musicians, and officiants to assure your special day is exactly what you want it to be.

South church is one of my favorite churches to photograph wedding ceremonies. The light is truly amazing and the photos are always stunning. Another amazing feature is if it ends up raining on your wedding day, you have several gorgeous locations in this church. The stairwell has the most beautiful window light, and also the front covered entrance is stunning for photos.
