The 1820s farmhouse at Rubicon Farm is a charming centerpiece for the open grassy countryside acreage that surrounds the house. Called the Black-Cole House, it was updated in 2005 as a getaway for an active family that loves the outdoors. Now empty-nesters, the couple who owns Rubicon rents this special property out as a venue for an array of special events. Our Niche Turn-key packages at Rubicon Farm are our wedding niche. Our team customizes our couple’s vision of their wedding day, and we do all the set-up and coordination and take down. We plan and execute everything but the reception food and your choice of music, and if you need help choosing those, we are happy to make vendor suggestions.

The Farm on Cotton is a rustic wedding venue located in Sanford, NC. Nestled on fourteen acres of pastoral land featuring a working apple orchard and adorable farm animals, this venue offers a rural ambiance with a touch of elegance. The venue can seat around 200 guests comfortably. The main space is a dream with beautiful white shiplap walls, gorgeous stained plank cathedral ceiling and lots of natural light. The main space is heated and cooled so you can be comfortable in any season. There is a covered porch that leads to a large flagstone patio with a white fireplace, this is a great space for rehearsal dinners or just an extension of the reception space. The bridal suite is in a separate building adjacent to the venue. Recently built in 2023, with nearly 800 sq feet you and your wedding party will have a comfortable space to enjoy the day. Finally, there is an open air chapel that can seat 200 guests comfortably. It has beautiful cathedral style windows in the front and back of the chapel and open arches on the sides. This chapel will make a great rain back up option for your wedding day or if you love it as much as we do, it can be a beautiful plan A option as well.

Initially, the 62-acre Het Landhuis Estate was part of a 1,000-acre farm owned by the Henderson family who operated a tanyard in the area, making saddles and other leather items. One day a future bride drove past Het Landhuis; she stopped in the main driveway and asked if she could get married there. In the year of 1762, Mr. Newberry and Mr. Thames purchased the land from Mr. Gray. In the deed, there was mention of a sawmill and grist mill on the place, but no mention of a house. In 1833 Mr. Byrne purchased the land from Mr. Newberry. At this time the house and store were on the land. Later on Mr. Byrne sold the land, and it change hands several times..." The house served as a mill home, store, and the Gray's Creek post office for many years.
