Welcome. In 1972, Paul Deiseroth built a commercial kitchen in the basement of the family’s home for his wife, Peg, to launch her catering business— The Fluted Mushroom. It was an apt name because the intricately carved mushroom exemplified the skill, beauty, and taste that Peg brought to Pittsburgh’s culinary scene. Today, thousands of weddings, corporate events, and private parties later, son Lee Deiseroth and his staff will bring that enduring style and sophistication to your next special event. Our goal is to create a uniquely you catering experience, which requires an understanding of your or your family’s personality and tastes.

Located in the heart of Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District, The Art Room is a 4,000 square foot, modern industrial event space. Its rustic yet refined feel makes this space the perfect venue for your special occasion. The Art Room was born in Fall 2019 on the concept of creating an event space with the juxtaposition of industrial and fine arts. After seeing the rustic space, we started renovations right away. Given the timing of opening our space, we, like many others, were halted due to COVD-19. Beginning in the Spring of 2021 we were able to resume hosting events and honing in on the original concept of a versatile event venue partnered with a fine arts gallery.

Olive or Twist is a Pittsburgh Martini Bar serving classic martini’s, craft cocktails,wine & beer along with scratch kitchen with a Pittsburgh twist. Founded in 2001 we are located in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District near Benedum Center, Heinz Hall & The Byham Theatre with the Ft. Duquesne/6th Street & Penn Avenue parking garages next door. Whether you are out for a night on the town, heading to Heinz Field or PNC Park for the game, or a weekend getaway Olive or Twist is Pittsburgh’s bar for live music, great cocktails & dining. The Barn at Maple Falls is a countryside haven surrounded by scenic natural vistas, water features, and luscious green lawns. Your guests can enjoy a welcome cocktail in the open air while you and your wedding party prepare in comfort in the getready rooms. Your heartfelt ceremony can take place outdoors under the delightful covered bridge, which provides a natural backdrop for your vows. Alternatively, theater-style seating can be laid out on the lawn in front of the pond and water feature, which offers a serene setting for your nuptial commitment. Afterward, a relaxed cocktail hour can be held in the lower barn and the adjacent outdoor area. The upper floor of the barn offers 3,500 square feet of event space that when combined with our patio tent, can accommodate up to 350 seated guests. For larger celebrations, parties can be split across the two-story barn and the patio can be converted to accommodate additional seating.

City Winery is Pittsburgh’s premier winery, where the rustic appeal of wine country meets modern, urban amenities. This main space, containing 2,200 square feet of event space, was once historically a produce terminal. Now re-imagined by City Winery, this unique full-service event space contains a built-in stage, state-of-the-art AV capabilities, and personalized on-site catering in one of Pittsburgh’s iconic landmarks.

Alla Famiglia was started in 1997. Another fine Italian restaurant created from the mind of David Ayn. In 2005, Ayn approached a young & ambitious chef Jonathan Vlasic to purchase the 8-table restaurant from him. Mr. Vlasic was a perfect fit to receive the baton and move the restaurant into a new future. Alla Famiglia has evolved into a restaurant which is a representation of the years of formal culinary training of Mr.Vlasic and his family of Roman&Emilia descent. The result was an eatery of superior quality with disciplined technique, vivid imagination, and passion for perfection. Through the next 14 years, the restaurant evolves, expands and stretches its footprint to accommodate its increasing popularity and growing demand. In 2014, Mr. Vlasic decides to purchase the property adjacent to the restaurant and bring his vision to a full circle. “Il Teatro” is born in the winter of 2017. It is now reinvented into its original depression art deco-era for Alla Famiglia guests to enjoy.
