Big Delicious Planet

  • Serves Broadview, IL

Inquire with us about your wedding: hello(at)bigdeliciousplanet(dot)com. Big Delicious Planet, named the “Greenest Caterer in America” since 2013, is one of the most sought after Chicago wedding caterers for couples who want flavorful, vibrant food with sustainability in mind. We cater highly-styled, glamorous weddings, and romantic, vintage weddings at venues all across the city and intimate weddings, elopements, and rehearsal dinners in our own urban farm. During our growing season, we’ll use the produce we harvest for your wedding!

We chose BDP to cater our September 2024 wedding at Firehouse Chicago and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for an event caterer. Jasmine was such a delight to work with from start to finish in planning our event - from the initial quote and inquiries, our tasting, planning along the way, our final walkthrough, and execution day-of. We were so lucky to have found BDP and felt supported in our wedding planning process from start to finish. But most of all, BDP served up some incredible food and beverages. Finding the right food and drinks for our wedding was important to us, so choosing the right caterer and bartending staff was crucial. BDP sources their produce and herbs from their urban farm in West town, and the everything they made for our wedding was so fresh, inventive, and unique. Their food is 1000 times better than any you will ever have at a wedding - it's more like dining at a nice Chicago restaurant than eating the standard dry chicken breast most wedding caterers produce. We loved our meal and had multiple guests come up to use during dinner to comment on how good the food was. I'm still craving another bite of their tortellini! They paid such attention to detail with everything leading up to the wedding and several of our guest's special dietary needs. Everyone had something safe and delicious to eat, and we felt so lucky to be supported by them. The speciality cocktails BDP made for our wedding were also the best drinks I've ever had at a wedding- by far! They even did some special cocktail infusions ahead of time for a favorite cocktail of ours that we never imaged could be served at a wedding. It was so delicious, so unique, and just overall amazing. If you're looking for a wedding caterer, look no further.

Welcome. Chef Jason started out in the kitchen at 15 years old as a dishwasher at Red Lobster washing dishes and baking. From there, he worked many cook’s lines until I earned my first chef position under Emeril Lagasse over ten years ago. He's went on to operating casino kitchens, private dining clubs. Since relocating from Atlanta, GA Jason has gained experience in kitchen consulting and new restaurant openings. After 25 years in the industry, He is now starting a new journey into the Private Chef sector. He refers to his style of cooking as Southern Creole cooking, where it’s much more than cooking…it’s about the overall experience.
