The Mt. Zion Convention Center is a multipurpose meeting and convention facility located in the newly constructed Mt. Zion Village East building along State Highway 121. Modern in design and technology, the Convention Center will serve Mt. Zion and our surrounding community as a destination for local and regional events. It has a grand ballroom that can be divided into three smaller rooms as well as three other small meeting rooms. The grand ballroom contains 11,000 square feet of unobstructed exhibit/meeting space, full-service catering, and experienced staff to help coordinate events of many sizes from as few as ten people to as many as 800 guests!

The Carriage House offers the open elegance of a 35-foot vaulted ceiling with two-story windows on both sides of the building. It features Brazilian cherry hardwood floors throughout and boasts its own balcony above the main ballroom which is perfect for the DJ/band area and group photos of all your guests. Seating capacity is 250 and additional seating is available on the outdoor patio. Fox Run Golf Club is the perfect wedding venue, located just outside of St. Louis, for wedding ceremonies. We find that this is most convenient for both you and your guests as they can walk right from the ceremony at the Pavilion to the reception at The Carriage House. At WOW Event Center we believe our guests should have the opportunity to experience the historic charm of Alton’s Riverfront District. Our venue is housed in a series of buildings dating back to the 1880’s. These buildings contain rustic elements with a chic industrial ambiance featuring exposed brick, hardwood floors, a pallet wall and visible rafters. Events that take place during the day are complemented by the beautiful view of the world-renowned Clark Bridge and the glistening Mississippi River. At night, the lights of Alton’s famed bridge create a spectacular backdrop for the evening’s activities. These design features have made us one of the most unique venues in the Midwest.

Construction on the Lake Springfield Postal Club began in the early 1940s. Post office employees donated over 50,000 hours on weekends, evenings and days off to complete the building. A team of horses and a sliding bucket were used to dig out the basement. The Postal Club officially opened in 1948. The total construction cost was approximately $15,000. In 2005, there were only two of the original Postal Club members left. In 2000 the Postal Club merged with the Springfield Firefighters Local 37. In 2001 the firefighters burned down the original Postal Club to make way for a new building. The new club was completed in 2002. The total construction cost was $3.6 million. The clubhouse is surrounded by 5 acres of woods, with boathouses, docks, beaches, parking lot, sidewalks, bandstand, and much more.
