The team at SmogShoppe was fantastic to work with from start to finish. Their communication was prompt, efficient, and incredibly helpful as we planned our wedding. The venue itself is truly unique and funky, with a fun and photo-friendly vibe that was perfect a laid-back wedding. Dana offered great suggestions and expertise to help us craft our idea of what our wedding would look and feel like, and the on-site staff were responsive and effective in executing everything seamlessly on the event day. We had absolutely no complaints - the venue was the perfect choice for us, and the entire SmogShoppe team was as friendly, helpful, and professional as we could have hoped. Valentine is our grandest location, and features a flowing 9,000 square-foot site plan designed for private events, courtyard weddings, receptions, exhibitions, productions and live performances. The venue is fully amenitized, and we provide experienced, professional site management, plus a commercial kitchen for client-selected catering teams. Originally built in the 1920’s in an area that has long served as the city’s seafood market east of Downtown, the building has lived many lives in its century of use; it’s been a hotel, a brothel, a fish and oyster company, and a commercial site for everything from glass blowing to marijuana cultivation. This mysterious history subtly informed our re-invention of the space.

There are truly not enough words to describe how incredible Marvimon was as a wedding venue. 
We had the wedding of our literal dreams — an all day affair that took place in both Valentine and Grass Room.

 Dana (Event Director) deserves every award there is in the wedding/event category. We opted out of a wedding planner because we were pretty confident in putting it together ourselves but of course there was A LOT to figure out and hurdles faced along the way. But thanks to Dana and Marvimon’s phenomenal team, the end result was truly magical. Between the organization, attention to detail, genuine care, and the list of unbelievable, pre-approved vendors (including a BIPOC, women-owned, and queer specific list which is where we primarily sourced everything) we didn’t realize that we not only got the venue of our dreams but the support it came with was extremely valuable. Not to mention the beautiful furniture, foliage and overall interior aesthetic that was there which removed any need for renting additional pieces. Weddings are exciting but everyone who has planned or is in the middle of planning one knows they are massively stressful. That said, the Marvimon team (ESPECIALLY DANA) didn’t have us worried at all. They were one of the biggest reasons we were at ease and confident things were going to run smoothly which I’m happy to report they did with flying rainbow colors! 100/10 CANNOT recommend enough!

We had a wonderful experience getting married at the Grass Room last month. The whole team are such good communicators, the preferred vendor list and other documents were incredibly helpful, and on the day of the wedding everyone was very efficient, friendly, and professional. We had a minor medical emergency with a guest and they handled it seamlessly. Plus, the space is gorgeous! We can't recommend the Grass Room highly enough!

The quality of their work and the overall value was simply beautiful - the natural, peaceful setting was exactly what we were looking for. Jose, Tracy, and April were all so sweet and helpful, I wouldn't have wanted to have our ceremony anywhere else. On the day of the wedding, I felt really nervous and broke down crying due to my anxiety, but Jose and Tracy quickly came to my rescue, got me a bucket, dried my tears, and gave me water until I was ready to continue. April also helped me with any questions I had regarding the wedding day and even recommended an officiant. The Ranch Club truly went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect.

The crew at Rivernook went out of their way to coordinate our wonderful wedding ceremony and reception. The meadow is BEAUTIFUL and as the sun goes down the twinkle lights set the perfect stage for our reception. We tend to be scattered and have a HUGE family. This crew kept everything together for us so all we had to do was show up and get married. A GIANT thank you from this big crazy Texas family!!
