I believe that flowers have the power to express the deepest emotion and tell the most meaningful stories. Having worked as a nurse in emergency medicine in my past, I felt the emotions that life will bring with every chapter that we experience. I was there for all of it, whether joy-filled or tragic.

Melissa and Michelle are the owners of The Fertile Market, a unique store that curates vintage, new, quirky, and whimsical goods. They opened on February 1st, 2020 just in time to be shut down by a global pandemic. Determined to forge ahead and continue to bring beauty, humor, and the occasional dance party into people’s lives, the market is now expanding to house Fertile Market Florals. Inspired by their love of flowers and vintage finds, Michelle and Melissa are excited to bring new life to ordinary yet beautiful vessels, to create flower arrangements that long after the flowers are spent the beauty remains.

A lifelong dream of mine was always to own my own business, but it never seemed to be in the cards for me until I took a temporary position after college graduation. That position was as a floral designer, and you could say that's when I knew I had found my life's passion. From there I worked in a handful of floral shops before deciding to open my own studio. Iris & Ivy has become my labor of love. I am constantly learning new and better ways to design and honing my craft to bring each couple's vision to life. Something I hope to do for a very long time.

I’m Michelle and I run Live. Love. Flowers., a wedding and special event florist based out of Bettendorf, IA. I do business from my home, where I live with my three canine helpers. They love weddings and supervising my work! I service the Quad Cities area and can travel to other areas if desired. I have done weddings as far as Rockford and Des Moines but am not opposed to any location! I work a full time job at Claire’s so I often schedule evening appointments.
