Growing up, I used to have this irrational fear that one day, I wouldn’t be able to rely on my memory to piece together the time that has passed. In my heaviest, nostalgic moods, I’d go through entire boxes of poorly organized family photos, and just stare in the background of every picture, to see if I could find some clue that would unlock a past memory I maybe had forgotten.
