Located in the East Falls section of Philadelphia, The Sugary is a made to order dessert studio specializing in cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Her passion for visually appealing, innovative and delicious desserts can be experienced in every creation she makes. Our menu consists of classic American style desserts that are made from scratch using the freshest and best ingredients. My name is Zoë Lukas, Founder and Creative Director of Whipped Bakeshop, an appointment-only bakery specializing in amazing cakes, cookies and cupcakes, as well as classes and group tasting events. When Brennen and I built Whipped Bakeshop, the foundation of our brand was to carefully listen to YOU and the details you share with us. We strive to take your inspiration and create something that’s far beyond what you imagined. To us, baking gives us the ability to create things some only dream about. While baking has always been my passion, I was a high school science teacher for 10 years before taking the leap to own my own shop! With the support and love from my family and friends, and the discovery of a beautiful location in our home neighborhood, I am now able bring my treats to a larger audience than what could be met by me alone in my kitchen. I am so happy to have a place that I can love and share love through. At Terrace Street Bakery & Cafe, we are welcoming to all kinds, because it takes all kinds to create this beautiful community we call home.

Making popcorn here is no joke, every day our customers visit our stores to find us working hard popping, drizzling, laughing, and coating in front of their eyes. There is always something new and exciting to sample. "Turkey Stuffing Popcorn" anyone?!?!?! It starts with corn harvested from nearby Lancaster county. From there we add a mix of inspirations: childhood favorites, family gatherings, and seasonal ingredients.

Janayah is a self-taught baker born & raised in Philadelphia, PA. Janayah has always had a love for cake since she was a young girl. At the age of 12 she began experimenting in her parents kitchen in hopes of finding the perfect recipe. After years of practice and self-discovery, Janayah decided to take a leap of faith after graduating college in 2013 ( s/o Clarion University Alum!!) and decided on a path of entrepreneurship. Janayah takes pride in building a business that shines in product & customer service. Building a legacy to leave behind for generations to come is what drives BatterUp to be the BEST!

My name is Naomi Acevedo and I am from the Enchanted Island of Puerto Rico. My husband and our sons came to Philadelphia, PA in 2015, 6 months after I got here. We came to get medical treatment and a better life for those two beautiful and sweet boys (until that time). We welcomed our Princess here, who was born in 2016. We officially started our business in 2018, but we have more than 15 years of experience in this sweet field. My mom used to bake cakes and treats and my father-in-law was a baker (we got his recipes). Here we are growing and expanding and incorporating more items into our menu.

After receiving a BFA in Theatre design from Virginia Commonwealth University, I started my career as a scenic artist by painting for theatre productions and creating window displays. While working in New York City, my passion for cake and sugar led me to a creative assistant position at Magnolia Bakery, where I spent several years decorating their storefronts and designing cupcakes. I realized then that I could combine my art background with my love of sweets and shift my career focus to include both, so I attended Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts to gain the tools and skills I needed to master pastry production.
